Johnson 90 Oops it did it again

If you start the motor and disconnect the red plug, run it around the lake hitting wakes, logs and old people and see if it recreates the issue. If it doesn't, it's north of the motor. Warning alarms won't work and you will have to plug it in to turn it off.

    Johnson OMC Fuel tank issue

Probably cheaper/easier to buy a new tank. Probably 50/50 on a new Amazon replacement part.

Johnson 90 Oops it did it again

Why did the switch not work? Wait I reread so hmmmmm.... Please send a picture of the power head where the big plug is. (Plug into harness to control box) We all might be able to help if we can see the condition of the outboard under the cowling.

Johnson 90 Oops it did it again

I might have said it already, it was just unplug the motor from the control box and jump it at the solenoid. You'll need a way to shut it off but take it out see if it does it with it unplugged from the control box. You're trying to isolate the situation to a more manageable area. I didn't read...

    Suzy 8hp

Hi, Neighbor has an older Suzuki 2 stroke with oil injection. Sat for the last 7 years and I told her not to start it yet they tried. They couldn't get it started and I finally diagnosed that the fuel line was hooked up backwards. Gave them the speech again and they continued on only failing...

    1986 Johnson 6.5hp Questions

Try capping of the primer and adding fuel if necessary to get it started. If it runs examine the primer for faults. Most likely the carb though.

1996 Evinrude OMC VRO Intermittent No Spark

Reading the post, poster's model number indicates a "tiller motor" not sure if above info would be correct.

Johnson 90 Oops it did it again

It's something out of the ordinary and don't fall into the 4 stroke lunacy....you will only have different problems.

Johnson 90 Oops it did it again

Another guess, my first to me larger outboard was a 82 Johnson 90 HP. Bought it used from a dealer. Took it out and it seemed gutless on a 1971 18 ft Fiberform. We were running around and all of the sudden it took off like a bat out of hell. Then dogged out. We decided to take it back to the...
