    House battery?

Where you at? Would be nice if people would fill out their profile so we could direct you to the proper place to look at it. Any good marine mechanic that has ABYC training should be able to figure it out. A run of the mill mechanic may not know what to look for.

    Bellows full of grease/oil

If the drive oil is clean/not milky, or going low, then it's not leaking. If any of the above are present, then yes. The water is mixing with the grease.

    Bellows full of grease/oil

Yeah, You have a water leak getting into the bellows, mixing with the grease that was in there and making a mess. I'm sure the gimble will fail soon, along with the u-joints. They now have water in them.

    Gas Issues

I used up about 30 gallons of water in the fuel. A customer had a leaking fuel fill and said pump it out, clean tank, and dispose of the fuel. Pumped it into a drum, let it sit. Took a sample in a glass jar and put it outside, let it freeze. The fuel was good on top, so I simply put the barrell...

    Second Happiest Day . . .

Never seen a boat mechanic run out in the ocean down in the engine compartment, but I guess he got to see everything under load. I do that quite often.

    Storage question

I simply make sure the battery is fully charged and unhook the ground. Leave it in the boat and let it be. In spring hookup, top off charge and go boating. Weather get's to -40 at times. 6-7 years the battery is in need of replacement.

Well, we do run the non toxic anti freeze through at our marina. Not only to make sure the motor is safe, but also to protect ourselves from buying the customer a new motor/heat exchanger, or other parts if something get's missed. My stuff at home get's nothing but drained.

Sloppy Pivot hole in swing keel Hunter 23.5

The rod is usually stainless steel, they don't wear much, But the bushing's do. We did a much bigger one, replaced the bushings; Might have to have them machined. We also added nylon sleeves to each side of the keel that were attached to the bushing. Think nylon washers, only very large. I had...

    New Porta-Bote boat with crack

Who shipped it? The shipper should be responsible for damaged goods, and it should not have been accepted from them. We do that, it gets shipped back to the business and a new one arrives packaged better and good.
