Which gasket is better for impeller install, metal or fiber?

I've used those yellow drainplugs. I personally don't like them. Twice I had a issue with water in the lower unit. Not much but enough to be concerned. I switched to the blue gaskets and the problem went away. I always pressure/vacume check the units when changing oil, and both times it was the...

Which gasket is better for impeller install, metal or fiber?

Rebuilt Mercruiser 140/3.0 doesn’t have enough power to plane

Wow, If the floor was soft and layerd over, then got soft again, I'd say the boat is on it's last legs. The stringers and transom are next to fail.

    Ladder Filler piece

You removing the ladder? If so, there is no filler to take it's place. Custom glassing would be required.

    Larson Composite Transom Leaks?

Sorry, they were not composite transoms. I misread the post. But we had a composite dock at the cabin, it warped and cracked over a few years, but cosa board is a different material. It's a resin infused plastic of some kind? I'm still doubtfull about that kind of material as it can warp over time.

    Larson Composite Transom Leaks?

just had two at the shop, both didn't leak at rest. under way yup, the torque from the drive flexed the transom enough to make it leak. The transom's need to be rebuilt.

Inconsistent bogging/acceleration until it hit around 20mph - Mercruiser 5.7l

You need to find a good mechanic. I have had the module get stuck like that, in my car, couldn't get the timing right, and poor performance. At that point it must be replaced. As sated, find a mechanic who knows what they are doing. I personally work on mercruiser's, volvo's, deisel motors, and...

Bought this boat from Auction need help!

Plastic thru-hulls are not allowed per abyc standards for below the water line use. An older boat will have them, and they may be grandfatherd in. They will break easily as they age and sink you in a hurry.
