    '89 Johnson 60HP overheating

Dumbass, When you clean all the water passages need to tear the cylinder head, exhaust cover, thermo housing and powerhead from it's base. Will need to manually scrape with a wooden sushi stick all the filth found in all those mentioned water passages. The issue is that any bolt highly salted...

Query about raising outboard 6" on transom

This scenario says it all, owner now prefers not to moor the combo but rather take it out of water when returning to terra firme as he doesn't know when will be using the combo again. BTW the lower SB has been scrapped/brushed clean, shows paint deterioration, pitting. Happy Boating

    '89 Johnson 60HP overheating

If the motor has not been internally desalted from new, that's the problem. It's not cooling as it should, too much crude, salt formation on the entire water passages and the overheat sensor triggering prematurely. With more use will get worse....check same issue ...

    Prop size

There's such a thing if it's a new motor factory delivered with a prop which it's usually medium pitched. Depends on the country you bought the motor. In such case the factory or dealer won't know or care which application will be powering it, so the propping right task will be left for you to...

    1993 15 hp Johnson Stalling

Gee, the dealer/mechanic is a highway robber to pretend collect $ 325 for a simple head gasket change. Who finally changed the gasket, the dealer or yourself ? A motor whith such low compression if real will be difficult to start but not die once started. Most times the mechanical part it's...

How to troubleshoot water in cylinder & lowered comp (or should I bother)?

Was the compression test done with motor cold or hot. A motor with very low compression ratio will be Hard to Start and that's normal. If a new head gasket doesn't work, there you have it. What's the factory PSI rated for when out of the box, probably 60 PSI is very low. If it's a 2 stroke...
