After you change the water pump you might not have a lot of water coming out those small holes. A light mist or drips is all I get out of my 4 hp motors. A heavier spray at higher rpms.
I tried to buy an aftermarket trim/tilt for my 40hp merc. A fairly large company in Montreal that I have bought from before has nothing in stock. And they are no longer taking orders for this year because they do not know when they will get more.. Someone that sounded like maybe the owner took...
There are videos on youtube that show how to set them with a multimeter. I set them to .020 at the highest spot on the cam lobe. Turn the crankshaft until the points are at there widest and set to .020. I have used both methods with good results.
And honestly I do not care other then the fact that I said the difference between the 2 shaft lengths is obvious. And you still dismissed what I said as not important.
The word "kit" was never used until post 13.. But as always you win . And I am wrong in saying that the 1979 35hp left the factory without a 5" spacer on the long shaft motor.
?? Can you point out the "spacer" to me because I do not see it? Post number 3 clearly shows the short and long shaft motors without any spacer. The different shaft length is in the exhaust housing....
??????? Would a 1979 model have a 5" spacer for a long shaft????? Just asking because the parts diagram shows the length is in the exhaust housing... Like in the photos I posted..
