So about 2.5 months to get the pump replaced and they didn't make sure the trim was working correctly before giving it...

    Get a one or more cheap spark gap testers. Place on each wire and see what the results are

    Change prop hub. Don't go far, take boat out and throttle up. If coupler is stripped motor will rev up but boat will not increase speed

    Don't have enough info to determine what happened. The sei is same as alpha and thanks for clarifying If the couple is what gave up, then the water pump stopped turning so it was overheat issue. Being unable to get above 10 mph it lost thrust. Don't see the over heating causing the problem and...

    Would do same with alarm going off Need to find out what actually happened. Start back up and oil press is good so that's not the issue. If you have an alpha drive, motor won't go above 2500 and could be coupler gave up, and you started overheating

    The thingy is a check ball and is used to restrict water from coming in past it when running. It allows water to pass in other direction during winterization

    Got the boat back a few days ago, most all is good. New complete trim pump unit. Only issue is trim gauge needs to be adjusted. Will call dealer tomorrow to get some pointers, but most likely I'll just do it my self then hauling it back

    Your correct, restrictor goes next to manifold I'm looking at the manual prior to posting link and looked like PPT posted it correctly, so I linked it for visual. Comparing PPT to manual I see PPT is showing how to place gasket with a closed cooling, BUT they should be showing a block off gasket
