    5.7 MPI Misfires Under Load

@ksvista - It is best to have a single thread with your engine issue, rather than creating a new threads as you work to resolve the issue. I have taken a quick look at your engine data. There are trouble codes, but they are not visible in the recording file. Please take a look at the codes...

I don’t see a model # but it looks like this. . . I’ll see if I have any documentation that might give the model #.

    My boat is being a boat . . .

I am starting to get the upper hand, but it has been a month (or so) of constant battles. I had quite a punch list from the first year of ownership, basically things to get the boat more 'dialed in'. Here are the things . . . . Fume detector (the boat did not have one ) . Secondary Bilge...

    Upholstery Work?

I do upholstery. You are looking at about $600 per cushion/piece. So, a typical boat might be $8,000. I just saw a Formula 330 re-upholstery that was awesome, 16 pieces, $15K. 😳

    My boat is being a boat . . .

The engines do OK for 6.2’s. The boat is pretty heavy, but not sure I’d want to burn more fuel with extra ponies 😀

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Yup, never liked playing with electrons. I think I’m coming close to completing the modifications I was planning. Hopefully this year I’ll have a better boating experience knowing where both the trim tabs and outdrives are from a trim perspective. :) The boat needs help coming up on plane.

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Yup, and the amount of wiring and connections on this boat is insane. I had to lay across the engines just to reach down to get at the trim sender connectors and they were fastened to the transom wall with tywraps every few inches. Now I got to re-secure it all . . . Probably all...

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Quick update on the Digital Trim Senders . . . I installed (replaced) the port sender and that worked fine. The starboard engine sender (also new) was still a no-go. At one point there was a warning about Stbd sender wiring that came up on the V.V. display . . . The connector contacts were a...

Ignition switch does not shut engine off.

Tell us a bit more about your boat. I assume that this is a re-power? I would suspect the wiring at the helm switches is not right, but having a bit more background would help.

    Mercruiser 6.2 - 90amp fuse

Welcome to iBoats . . . Post the serial number of your engine to help with responses, but as stated the fuse should be there. Not sure why a mechanic would remove the fuse. Also not sure why a mechanic would replace the starter. Maybe you need to consult a third mechanic.

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Yes I hope I can get it figured out. It appears that they don't work until they are calibrated. Seems stupid to me . . . They should at least work. I am going to check the wiring in the AM. There is something on VesselView for calibrating the trim senders. Also there is supposed to be a...

    My boat is being a boat . . .

For my next trick I'm going to figure out these SmartCraft Trim Senders. The instruction booklet (yes, 14 pages just to install a trim sender  ) shows using the CDS G3 computer program to calibrate them. However, my weekly allowance does not support the cost of the CDS...

    Revolution 14.6x19P vs 3-B something?

I usually look at both the diameter and the pitch. The # of blades is also a factor. . . Most of the time, you just have to try the prop to see the difference.

    Revolution 14.6x19P vs 3-B something?

AD . . . how are the current props (Rev 4's)? I was never able to save up enough of my weekly allowance to buy a Rev 4, back in my single prop days. One thing of note is that you will be going up in both diameter and pitch with the Enteria you mentioned. Do the engines have the extra...

    1991 California cool

Greetings and welcome to iBoats . . . Not much information on the web about California Cool boats. There is a forum post here on iBoats asking about the brand. They do look like fancy bass boats. You might have to compare them to similar brands/models to get an idea of pricing/value. I don't...
