1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

No…..you have to turn the ignition on/run (self test sequence) before you can push the key in to activate the solenoid. If the motor will not start/stay running using the primer manually, a bad solenoid isn’t the problem. The other thing to check is the filter screen inside to solenoid. Remove...

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

My bad… it by-passes the fuel manifold, not the fuel pump

    New Fuel Line Size

I did a little research.......found they employee three (3) people working in a small industrial warehouse complex in Popano Beach (google maps). The on-line business fuelconnectionstore.com operated out of the same address from 2010 to 2022 Found them as importer/consignee of multiple...

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

The valve by-passes the fuel pump and carbs dumping fuel directly into the manifold. Normal operation, you push the key in to activate the solenoid while cranking the engine. In theory, the only time you would need to use the lever is when your solenoid dies. I have to fully investigate...

    1994 Mercury 60hp Poppit Spring

The strength of the spring would determine the pressure which the by-pass would open. Guessing…. the lower unit for a pontoon is typically geared lower for added thrust. The lower shaft speed would produce less flow and pressure to the cooling system, requiring more or less spring pressure to...

    New Fuel Line Size

Guessing not everyone has acess to import /export data to verify such claims…..lol Lots of traffic from Taiwan and Miami ;) Not saying their assemblies are not good quality. Boat Tarp Material?

You in or around trees? If so, porous material like Sunbrella become a mold breeding ground in short order. Dry rot isn't far behind. Switched over to a black/Silver, 1200 Denier, 14 x 14 weave poly trap. Going on year 5 with the current tarp

    New Fuel Line Size

My current primer setup is almost 10 years old. Still works as advertised. Stored out of the sun under the back hatch which surely helps with longivity Not a fan of prefabbed fuel line assemblies. They typically use inexpensive, unrated fuel hose. I make my own up using OEM (BRP) bulb and 8...

1996 Evinrude Vindicator 200hp--engine keeps quitting on start-up

A primer bulb has 2 check valves in it. Nether will work without the primer bulb being held in the vertical upright position. That’s how they work. I’ll go back to what I said a while ago… these motors are sensitive to cranking rpm. They need to crank over 300 rpm to generate enough...

    Cleaning stained gelcoat

It’s gelcoat… it’s porous. Could be tannin stains, could be a lot of things. For tannin I use Atwood biodegradable hull cleaner cut 75:1 water to cleaner in a garden sprayer. Don't get on aluminum. Stain will disappear in front of your eyes rinse with water

    Cleaning stained gelcoat

Cleaner depends on what caused the stain. Dirt on gelcoat is just soap and water. Mold and mildew depends on color and material. Spray nine and Clorox cleanup work well on vinyl.

EZ lube hubs and cold water

What thinketh the membership here..... Useful or just hype

Guessing they are not standard due to the extra cost, but “target bunks” and “goal post” make loading a bunk trailer a very simple process. The target bunks center and hold the bow in position while the “goal posts” centers and holds the rear of the boat over the trailer. From that point, I...
