    Stringer question

I'm not sure you will be able to 'dig out' all of the rotted/wet wood in the fashion that you are thinking. So, a pourable solution may not work in this case.

    Rec gas prices???

I pulled into a gas station/rest stop on the highway today . . . which those tend to be the pricier places to buy gasoline. $4.90/Gallon for 93 Premium. So, I decided to lighten up on the gas pedal and use a bit of 'hyper-miling' techniques. I got about 20% better gas mileage on the...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Here is my Sunday's work . . . finished up this AM. This piece goes on the starboard bow side. . . . . I added the RED racing stripe to the original pattern, as I believe it will make the boat go faster :ROFLMAO: . I thought this piece would be easy, but it wasn't in total it took about 14...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Quick update. . . I'm working on the bow stbd side cushion. It has a bunch of French Seams. . I have gone through a few iterations of re-engineering my appraoch to french seams. I have settled on an approach where I use spray adhesive to fold the two mating seam allowances over and then a bit...

    Maxum 17' carpet removal

Welcome to iBoats . . . Gelcoat over the carpet . . . now why didn't I think of that. :ROFLMAO: Might be better to buy a small center console instead. . .

    Rec gas prices???

Gas prices went crazy back in 2008, but I guess we have forgotten. They are getting back to where they were. Better ask for an increase in your allowance so you can buy gasoline for your boat. :ROFLMAO:

    Getting the most horse power

Be mindful of the cam shaft in that you cannot get too aggressive with it, else you run the risk of hydro-locking the engine at idle speeds. Good marine cams are really boring . . . lots of lobe separation and little overlap.

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Here is my days work . . . . . . I added a little bit of color to the endcaps. This piece, which is the port settee backrest in the main cockpit, put up quite a fight for a while. The part with the Red endcap and the white vinyl tucked under got all messed up . . . I had to re-stitch it...

    Corrosion/coating on props question

https://forums.iboats.com/threads/first-time-spraying-outdrive-anti-fouling.732285/ Salted water . . . You will need to paint the props. You could do galvanizing (zinc) spray and it will keep the barnacles from growing on them, but algea will grow on them. If you paint with zinc and then...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Yes, the shape of it is because the companion seat right next to it needs to mate up with it. . . . but that piece IS symmetrical :ROFLMAO: . .

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Update . . . I've been away from the upholstery for about a week, but now back at it. This is the complete 'beer access' backrest. . , . This one seem to take forever 🤪 but at least it is done. I did not realize how 'non-symentrical this backrest is until I got it finished. I'm getting...

1969 Merc 110 Fuel Line Assembly

1969 was one of those years when Mercury was using a smaller bayonet style connector. They were/are pricey ($50 ish when I bought one), but perhaps there are more now available (?) and then you can fit it to any compatible fuel line. I don't believe you will find anything ready-made.

    Tax time!

The Admiral uses TurboTax to file our plethora of forms. Not sure $200 is all that obscene for having it spit out the proper forms.

1885 5.7L weak water supply to circulation pump

Not sure why you think it is the recirculating pump. . . . I'm thinking it is a clog leading up to the T-stat housing . . . or the T-stat housing itself.

    When To Dewinterize

Yes, the weather has been teasing many of us this season. 65˚ F and sunny here on Wednesday . . . 20˚ F and 8" of snow on Friday. o_O

    Towing more than capacity?

I have towed on the highway right up near/at capacity and maybe even slightly over, considering published weights do not include fuel, gear, etc. (24 foot boat . . . about 6,500 - 7,000 lbs total) I towed this beast (see signature photo), which is 14,500 lbs (ish) total and about 42 feet...

1966 Islander - Anyone had success installing a porta potty or other toilet solution in the bow/cabin area?

It was in the center. Not sure what size it was . . . fairly long time ago.

    1989 Celebrity 181BR Restoration

Start with what you think you may need for materials (Resin, cloth, etc.) . . . you can always buy more as needed. Also, be aware that your resin application methods can save on resin, $$$, and weight, if that is desirable. I'd try with 20 gallons of resin, even if you end up needing 30 gallons.

1966 Islander - Anyone had success installing a porta potty or other toilet solution in the bow/cabin area?

I don't have any specific ideas, but some pictures would be nice. My 24 Cuddy had the porta-poop under a section of v-berth cushion. Maybe similar to what @jimmwaller is describing.
