How to Switch to Antifreeze Cooled Engine

It could be a 302 with a bent connecting rod :ROFLMAO:

How to Switch to Antifreeze Cooled Engine

Yes, how new and how low hours. 301 engine? I guess 'we' need more information/clarification. @scatgo - tell those people on LI to stop pouring battery acid into the water :ROFLMAO: . Generally speaking, once and engine 'sees' salt water for any length of time, enough rust and scaling...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

This is one of the corner base cushions for the bow seating, thus its somewhat odd shape. This cushion went together fairly well, So, maybe I'm coming up to speed. Here are a few pictures, of the foam base, the skin after sewing, and the final results. . . . On to the next piece . . . 😛

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Progress . . . Yay :D  . . . I made 2 bases yesterday and 2 this morning. So, the rear seat/sunpad bases are done. . . . I was unsure how the white and gray vinyl would look together, but I think it is a nice contrast. . . The OEM gray was a textile pattern, whereas the Nautolex...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Thanks guys (y) It seems like I have needed to bang off some 'rust', not having done this sort of work in 2 years. . . But I'm getting there.

Repairing Diamond Battery Locker Panel on 08 Regal 2200

Looks like the hatch got into a heck of a fight. 🤪 Assuming that you are going to be using a polyester resin & gelcoat in your rebuild (along with some fiberglass), you could just use some of the same resin mixed with a glass filler to prep the holes. That Gibco stuff is pricey ...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

I finished the matching pair of bases this AM . . . . . . . The stitching came out better on the second piece (not surprising). There is also a forward facing set (to the large rear seat assembly) that I will start in on. Those cushions are simpler than these two.

    7.4L Overheating

Glad you found the issue. My 7.4's had the VST pump instead of cool fuel, so I never had to mess with that part of the cooling system.

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Another cushion done . . . a boat-load more to go. 🤪 Here is one of the aft facing bases of the rear seat. . . . . I have its mirror image twin ready for final top-stitching, then installing/stapling to the backboard. I got my new presser feet, making it easier to do the...

88 mercruiser 4.3 low compression and water in oil.

We hear the "I was told . . . " story a lot. Water in the oil could be a number of things, none of them good. Head gasket is usually the one that people hope for, because it is one of the easier repairs. Usually, it is not the head gasket though . . . 10 psi on a compression test is really...

    CCM:Lever1 error. HELP PLEASE

Isn't digital technology on boats great? You get to buy all new tools (Rinda Diacom) and a new laptop so you can figure stuff out. Do you have the service manual for the engine? For now you can check all of the cable connections, both at the controls and the engines, but who knows if that...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

As a side note . . . One of my siblings really likes to go on the boat, but is not interested in any deckhand activities. (rightfully so . . . ) I sent him this shirt the other day . . . . . He loved it !!! :ROFLMAO:

Inverter with shore power - Question ???

Quick update. . . I ordered a 100 Watt marine 'kit' from Renogy. Includes flex panel, controller, wiring. Since the controller is a single output, I'll be adding the diodes in the wiring to isolate the 3 battery banks from sharing electrons.

    HULL REPAIR QUESTION

Based on what 'we' can see from the pictures, I'd say the current owner probably has run aground a few times and/or gotten towed off a few rock infested sandbars. Understood about slim pickings in the marketplace, having just gone through the buying process myself. If you do go in this...

    HULL REPAIR QUESTION

That looks bad . . . Not something you want to fuss with as a newbie. A shop would be pricey, as I'm guessing the entire bottom may need to be re-gelcoated ??? Might be more than the boat $,$$$ What next on your list of boats ?

    Raw water?

Thanks, Chris . . . I was not sure if they were 470's. A 1987 anything would be a bit of work regardless. 470's would be icing on the cake 🤪

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

I've ordered the top stitch and the zipper. (not that I an doing zippers, but they come in handy for tight corners and curved seams. . I see more pesser feet online that are of a different mounting style, so not sure if the Consew 226 is the same as these.
