    Outdrive oil leak..

The seal in question is the one below the driven gear in the driveshaft housing and above the one that you changed. Just keep a close watch on it.

point and condenser - Tune Up OOOOOPS!

Try to find a small flat washer which should do the job over the condenser terminal over the points spring. Be careful where you buy the ignition parts. All the big box auto stores sell trash. NAPA might be your best option.

    Say it ain’t the transom!

Try disconnecting the short hose at the thermostat housing then connect your garden hose to it so that water just goes into the exhaust manifold. This way the engine does not have to run and you should be able to find the source of the leak.

    Say it ain’t the transom!

Raise the drive and put as much of your body weight on the drive and watch if the transom flexes

    Engine alignment

If you pull the shaft out without rotating it look at the pattern the splines left on the grease. This way you can check which way vertically the front of the engine has to go. You are probably real close. If you decide to do more adjusting, use your engine hoist attached to the front of the...

    Outdrive oil leak..

As I posted on #5 the lower seal only protects the upper seal. If oil is running down the shaft because the upper is leaking you are rolling the dice. When the oil drains out the upper the gear set will be toast. Just keep a close watch when the boat is on the trailer and the drive lifted.

    Volvo Penta overheating

Did you also replace the #24 “O” ring seal ? Also looks like you need a new bearing in the pump. You might be able to match it up at any NAPA or a bearing supply warehouse.

Oil in outdrive but passed pressure test

What you should do is drop the lower. Then you can pressure test the 2 units separately. You just have to plug the oil transfer port. There is a good chance the shaft seal area below the water pump base may be the leak as that is a water high pressure point. The shift shaft seal is also...

Pay attention to #s 35 & 47. Those are the weak link that SD is referring to.

    1975 225 OMC

The washers and spring were originally used as a ground to ensure the lower gear magnets a negative charge. Later on there was a stainless ground strap added between a pivot cap bolt to the bolt that mounted the rubber bumper. If you do not have the strap be sure to add something similar. If...

    MCM260 Problem

You should also check the dwell and timing, it could be possible that the centrifugal advance in the distributor is not advancing due to being stuck from corrosion.

    MCM260 Problem

In addition to the throttle control sometimes there is an additional hole closer the throttle shaft which will give full open on the carburetor. Does your engine still have the original ignition? Or has it been converted to a points style system.

    1975 225 OMC

The purpose will be as SD said to keep the oil in the drive cool because the exhaust water is too hot. As long as the impeller blades are still in place is all that is needed to flow water through it.

    Possible trim line snowballing nightmare?

From what you posted it appears to be aa alpha series. You do not have to remove the engine to replace the hoses. I re sealed the rams on my last boat without removing them. I just removed the rear cross pin then unscrewed the caps and pulled out the rams. Just be sure to use a flare nut...

    Possible trim line snowballing nightmare?

The block under the gimbal housing is held on with 2 stainless nuts. Sometimes the gasket survives. Pry it down and then you can get to the 2 hoses. What model do you have? Do both the hoses attach to the front of the ram?

    1975 225 OMC

If you add an engine pulley driven pump and draw water through the bottom just connect the incoming water from the drive with a “T” or “Y” style fitting and of course a valve where the hull connection will be. This way you will be able to continue using the flush out on the pivot cap.

Try to slide the white plastic sleeve off. With a block of wood on the table tap the bottom of the extended stainless down which should drive the cooler up and out.

    Overheating AQ125a leaking cooling sustem

If the bolts are causing the problem you might need some heat around the head of the bolts. As far as the cover it will take some gentle persuasion with some thin wide screwdrivers.
