    Catfish

Most serious cat fish aficionados I know use conventional tackle. Surprised none made the "best reels" list

    boat fuse panel

Not sure I would classify swapping out one fuse type for another as an “upgrade” but it will work.

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Looks like my trailer but in much better shape. Mine was ridden hard and put away wet. Cant decide if I want to put money into the trailer or just buy a new aluminum one. I will not need a trailer in 3-4 years if everything goes as planned.

Full Clear Vinyl Enclosure vs. Canvas with Vinyl windows

Not sure what an all vinyl enclosure buys you except more headaches. It’s bad enough trying to keep up with the “touch points” on the windows in the usual normal canvas enclosure. Can’t imagine the “road rash” you would get with a full vinyl enclosure. I have a hardtop on my boat. The...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Not a fan of leaving bearIng assemblies exposed to the elements prior to installation. Leave prepared bearing assembly in factory packaging until needed. Keep it along along with a 12” crescent, rubber mallet, pair of pliers, dust cap driver (2” PVC) and grease gun in a 5 gallon bucket with...

Evinrude 130HP switching from 3 blade to 4 blade

Plot ”real” data then use a polynomial or logarithmetic 3rd order trend line to average out the results. Much, much more accurate than fudging numbers mentally.

    Will carport help mold/mildew issues?

Stored under cover outdoors for years with few mold issues. Now stored in a pole barn with a loose fitting trap to keep dirt and dust down. Still get a bit on the white helm chairs. Nothing worth worrying about. Cleans right up with Clorox cleanup. Found out long ago the trick to keeping mold...

1970 River Queen Houseboat new owner here!

The harbor buoy data shows a mean salt concentration of 0.01 ppt but can go as high as 2.8 ppt at various times during the year. More than enough “salt” to support galvanic corrosion. Total mistake to discredit the idea...

    Trophy parts catalogue

Nothing on a Trophy is proprietary. All third party stuff. Would be better off browsing a Perko or Atwood catalog for part numbers then make Google your friend

    Fouled Crankcase.-

I have not “decarbed” in years. Easier to prevent carbon build up running an oil with an carbon additive (XD50) or simply add Ring Free to the fuel at each fill up per instructions on the label.

Will be interesting to see how well the running gear held up after sitting in saltwater for how knows long w/o maintenance.

What certification number are they using? Have not seen a bottle/jug of oil w/o a certification number stamped somewhere on the container.

    deer meat question

Not a hunter but BIL is into it. Most everything other than tenderloins goes to the local meat processor to make bologna. What doesn't go to the processor is turned into jerky. He has the process down to a science. Makes his own seasonings, etc. I'm not a real fan of bologna but always game...
