    Early 70s evinrude wire diagram

Not to worry about the stains. Normal. I'm pretty sure I have the diagram. I'll look it up.

Any way to identify the serial number on what i think is a 1999 V4 Johnson 90Hp

I hope somebody, someday, will post a serial number list of those Georgia-built motors.

    1958 7.5HP Johnson prop

I don't see anything indicating you have had the flywheel off and checked the ignition. Got old, cracked coils?? Spark arcing through the side of a coil?? Or arcing through a plug wire where it ic clamped to the armature plate?

    86 Johnson 28 Surging

That thing is ventilating. Just for kicks, remove the doel fin and see what happens.

    1958 7.5HP Johnson prop

5.5 and 7.5 use the same lower unit. I still think your motor is cutting in and out on one cylinder.

Correct prop for mid-60's 18HP Johnson?

Johnson 18's were produced 1957-1965. A 1965 came from the factory with a 9-1/4 X 11 three blade aluminum prop. They figured it was good for the average boat the motor was likely to be used on.

Johnson TN 26 5HP impeller replacement

Shift cable disconnected? Probably water tube stuck in pump grommet. Got a couple of screwdrivers to pry with?

'65 Sportwin 9.5hp prop shaft play

Possible forward gear thrust bushing, but if it is, you have more issues in there than that. How about the motor mount bushings? Is the whole motor flopping around loose in the outer shell?

    1958 7.5HP Johnson prop

5.5 and 7.5 props are different but look similar. But that is not your problem. Most likely, your motor is running on one cylinder.

    Engine Identification Problem

G22884211 is a serial number of one of the motors made in Georgia. I have yet to see a list of Georgia/Serial numbers/Year built. Does anybody have such a list and be willing to share?

I have never seen the need to remove one for cleaning.

    What part is missing???

Consider the fact that the 14hp powerhead design was also used on the 12hp Gale and Evinrude Speedster models of the time period---all with different tank and cowling applications. For instance, I'm posting the 12hp Gale parts diagrams and you will see all sorts of brackets and doo-dads not...

"Because apparently the pressurized tanks are like sitting bombs lol. If a hot piece of sheared metal comes down that air line to a pressurized tank full of gas .... kaboom lolol or so I have heard" Oh, c'mon now, that ain't about to happen. Besides, so-called non-pressurized tanks also build...

Yeah, good point. Evaluate that thing before spending your coins. That was the old slab-sided block, tough enough, but "different" Not 100% sure, but I think it has the old 550040 coils that were made of unobtanium and melted within the first 2 or 3 years' life. Installing a fuel pump is an...

I suppose it is possible if you are determined enough. But why not just find a good pressure tank, as it was designed for?
