    74 stringer electric shift rebuild

-Confirm that there is type C or an electric shift equivalent fluid in the lower for sure. - test the magnets in the lower and confirm that you are at 4.5 to 6.5 ohms on your green / forward shift wire -also confirm that your ground wire is attached at that pivot points ensuring the lower unit...

    F-150 Transmission Issues (I think? . . . No, I thought )

hate to jinx your situation but your description is pretty much what was happening in my much older 91 Bronco with an E4OD transmission (fully electronic) . I was getting a code though about torque converter slipping. It would sometimes feel like I was driving on small rumble strips. a...

    Battery question

Yeah , I thought it was closer to 5-6 years until I was swapping it out and noticed the made date. Not too bad of a run for sure

    Battery question

    Battery question

That's how most of mine have been taken out , can't get them charged into the 12s . This one , by simply checking the voltage appeared to be just fine .

    Battery question

New battery and all is well now . That was a learning experience for me for sure . That battery went from fine to less power than a watch battery literally overnight. Thanks again all.

    Battery question

weird , I dont recall ever having a battery fail in this fashion. I left it on a 2 amp charger all day , volts were in the high 12s at rest when I got home from work. as soon as I turn on anything , and I mean anything. Headlights, dome lights , simply just open a door , the volts plumet down...

    Battery question

W Thanks for the chart , 80% you would think would still be able to run a dome light. It must be some crappy connections / build up . Thanks for the info

    Battery question

Hey all, my truck won't start today I didn't even get clicks. Radio wouldn't even come on, and the dome light would barely come on. I grab my tester my battery is reading 12.45 volts, yet it can barely even light the dome light I'm talking very dim, barely even on. I took an Uber to work...

Found my stolen boat! Wiring nightmare, no fire

I hate to sound like Mr. Negative, Its a cool story and I am glad you got your boat back........ But with snow on that boat and considering it was stolen and then later abandoned I would be trying to figure out if the block / manifolds were drained and winterized before trying to fire it up...

    Hvac / thermostat question

It does yes. There is a setup part at the beginning and you test each mode/wire.

    Hvac / thermostat question

Okay , I think I got this knocked out . Ran a new 18/8 wire. Now the wiring is more "standard" Nest is installed and tests appear to be good. Thanks again

    Hvac / thermostat question

Outstanding. Running a new wire now as that all makes better sense now. And I am glad I asked this , looking at current setup. My second heat stage is not hooked up , and it's a 2 stage furnace . So there are a couple bonuses of running a new wire Thanks everyone

    Hvac / thermostat question

Good info on the smart thermostats . Did you like the Nest while you had it ? And I think I have the 2 wires for this. One group to the thermostat. Smaller group outside to the ac unit. But not really my wheelhouse either . I just want a smart thermostat , this current Honeywell is allegedly...

    Hvac / thermostat question

Okay, that makes sense . I will run another thermostat wire , this time a 6 wire . Bruce, when I do that. Is it simply a matter of adding the extra wire to the "C" on the board . (Does it matter that there is already a wire on it ? I believe for the AC relay) Thanks again .
