    Hvac / thermostat question

Current honeywell thermostat was installed on previous system though , and in that configuration it had to have batteries. Common wire didn't have power.....

    Hvac / thermostat question

And I guess the second question would be. I have a multimeter, how could I confirm if it is indeed powered ?

    Hvac / thermostat question

Hey all , I was wondering if there are any hvac folks that can help me out. I had a new system installed just in April. At that time I just had a standard Honeywell non smart type of thermostat. ( current thermostat uses batteries ) I just got a Google nest "smart" thermostat and was...

    1972 Grew SS245

Scott's advice is sound ... For any "new to you" Stringer it would be highly recommended to check the splines inside the drive and change/seal up the water pump, they are common failure points on stringer and it gives you a good chance to look things over and grease it all up so there are no...

    Slightly warm trailer hub

I'm glad that was brought up . I have always went to the "closest" spot where I could get the cotter pin in . Whether looser or tighter.... just the closest from the final finger tight spot. Thanks for the tip !

    Slightly warm trailer hub

The return trip was actually at night and fairly cold outside , one hub a little warm . I will grease and readjust the preload this spring and inspect the bearings . I'm sure everything is just fine with that hub for the reasons outlined above

    Slightly warm trailer hub

What you laid out us pretty much exact to how I set the bearings. I will lift that wheel and just double check where that warm one is.

    Slightly warm trailer hub

Hello all , Quick backstory - a couple years ago I lost a wheel bearing and it chewed up the axle enough that I needed a new axle (no brakes on this axle) I replaced the axle and hub with another brand than the other 3 hubs , I couldn't find any numbers or anything on the jacked up hub. While...

    Cracked block leaking water

okay , fair enough. I stand corrected. Luckily I've never had a busted block , so I haven't had to research it. I just assumed they were fairly easy to weld vs JB .

    Cracked block leaking water

I don't understand why in this example you would even think of JB. It's right there and and accessible .... if you're going to attempt a quick fix , at least do it with an actual weld.

1984 OMC 3.0 Stringer Sterndrive upper unit bearing housing and 314725 tool

You don't need a buddy for that neutral adjustment. I do mine solo. Just unhook the throttle cable from the converter and use your hand to slowly move the shift arm while you keep an eye on the prop shaft. Your method would work too I suppose

    80s dirt bike help

Hey all, I am wondering If there is anyone on here that can help me out and double check my thinking on this. I am bringing back to life an 87 rm80 for my boys and it purs like a kitten but has clutch issues. I need to get into the clutch ,but can not figure this one out. I have been into the...

OMC Stringer ESA not working-Adapter housing not centering.

That's normal. There is no load on the prop and no tension on the shift cable when you are on land. When you're in the water all of that will change and the switch will get pressed in during a shift. Good job on tracking down the ground problem. Interesting side note . If I held my switch...

OMC Stringer ESA not working-Adapter housing not centering.

If both of the switches and wiring / connections are good and depressing the switch doesn't do anything ...... you have a bad ESA module. there should be a very noticeable change in your engine RPM when that switch gets depressed. (with drive in neutral , overstroke switch not depressed) in...

OMC Stringer ESA not working-Adapter housing not centering.

Have you tested the continuity of this switch? Cuz tapping that switch should stumble the engine. Holding the switch in even a second kills my engine Based on that sentence above , either that switch is bad, your wiring , or your esa .

OMC sterndrive not moving in gear.

There is a formula you can use that will give you the overall ratio ( compound gears calculation iirc or something like that ) Post the ratio numbers of your upper and lower and the overall ratio , then prop guys on here can at least give you recommendations for prop numbers rather than just...

OMC sterndrive not moving in gear.

Sounds like you took the hard path of removing the lower unit with everything still on the boat. The whole outdrive comes off quite easily , remove the entire drive , then split the upper and lower , then your upper is off and you can count the rotations. (you can have the upper removed in...
