I would guess the cold is the cause of this. Unfortunately, I would say all of it is no good anymore. Mix all of the gel together, catalyze it, and dispose when hard and cooled down. It can generate quite a bit of heat when a lot is mixed, so wait for it to cool first.
I saw something similar in another thread, a little board running along the keel like that. He was told that is structural. I would replace it like it was, but fill in those depressions on either side so they don't hold water.
Scuff with 80 for chips down to the glass, 320 for minor stuff in the gel, clean with wax remover and it's ready. For bigger chips you'll need to add a thickener to make a paste. Use a bondo spreader to work it in, and a razor blade can help smooth it out.
It sounds like it didn't set up fully...
No matter how well you think you mask everything, it WILL get all over the whole boat. You never get it all.
Good job ao far. I can't see any signs of missed cracks or delaminations.
The Harrison left this morning, we have another pontoon with a big slide tower getting a new floor, big swim platform has the ladder mounted, and a guy did a turn around in our back driveway towing a very nice truck.
It must depend on where you go in the forum. I mostly hang out in the restoration bit, because I don't know anything about engines. I don't really see much of that, but I haven't been here very long either.
Hopefully I haven't done it. I try not to be short with people, but at only 5ft and a...
It would be pretty easy to prep and paint the Trickstep to match your trailer better. You don't have to spend big bucks on automotive paint, some rustileum will do since it will have a good quality factory paint to go over.
We get some weed control boats that have electric winches. Those things...
I recently did a transom job with a clearence issue like that. My supervisor has an extended shaft straight die grinder that helped a lot, along with a few carbide bits and a stone ball. Later, I had closed the gap even more with glass, and had to come up with something else. I taped a stir...
To gel the sides would take a bit more work than recarpeting, unless you are also replacing the floor. EVA will highlight any uneven spots in the floor, so get it as smooth as you can first.
Nason Fulthane single stage paint. First pic is sanded and ready to spray, next two are qith three coats. Not a lot of light on it so it doesn't show very well on the camera.
