    If the tach is accurate, either prop is within the Engine's WOT Range. I can't see a 6 mph increase happening along with a 300-400 rpm drop from a 1" increase in pitch. The numbers provided, aren't adding up

    Replacing a Lifter on a Flat Tappet Cam, almost always results in the Cam being replaced, not too long after. Roller Cams have a much better Survival Rate

    That is an diagram for 1980, a 79 could be different in several Areas.

    Does it blow as soon as you insert it, or does it wait till you turn the key to on? That fuse is the Feed that goes up to the Control. I suspect a pinched wire, or a short to ground, perhaps even the Key Switch itself. Being 44 yrs old, it may have broke

    Contact a Mercruiser Dealer for the Cam, they can get it. Once the New cam is in, it will need a Break In

    Well both the Primary and Secondary sides should be delivering the same Mixture Ratio to each cylinder, whether equal sized Jets will do that is a tossup. Are the Primaries and Secondaries the same Diameter, same Venturi size, and have identical Discharge Nozzles? Your Carb also uses Metering...

    I'm not sure if the last part was Sarcasm. Often, someone will post about a Problem, and it takes a while to Ferret out that they have No History on the Engine, what has been done to it, when it started acting up or for how long... It is amazing how many people will buy an Engine blindly...

    Also: Getting the Boat Ready for Launch prior to getting on the Ramp, and to get the Hell off of it, before tarping, after loading. In addition, keep your little Monsters off the Ramp, as it not a Wading Pond.

    Maybe it's just Lighting, but whatever is jammed up against the Hull inward of the Fender, looks like it may have distorted the Hull. It is something, not stock on a Shore Lander Trailer.
