Progress I believe, I got the transom skin Sealed up, got the bolts below the waterline most the 1/4” bolts are in and sealed. So I build power lines, I have gotten so much aluminum out of the trash. 👍

    1987 Starcraft islander 190v?

I haven’t posted this because of the ugly workmanship but I got over that feeling. Here is my patchwork. The spot under the fuel fill hose was gaslogged and there was ALOT of corrosion there. The first attempt was with a beer can and jb weld, That was before I found this forum!

    1987 Starcraft islander 190v?

Morning Gents. I’m about to start putting the transom back together. I am wondering what you all have done with the transom cap install. Regarding these small nails. Should I nail these back into my newly epoxied transom creating intrusion holes. Is there an alternative with rivets?

My First StarCraft; 1975 18' SuperSport

Hey classic. Did you paint your transom after doing all the epoxy and fiberglass cloth? I am also wondering if your transom is sandwiched by the transom skin and a piece of aluminum on the inside?

Smart move on the circle hooks. Sounds like you are getting Somerville figured out. 👍 as far as the corrosion goes. I have been using a gray nylon brush getting all the white corrosion out followed up by a stainless steel brush. Then hit it with a 1:1 water/vinegar dilution. Then if it is real...
