    There is no bolt holding the driveshaft to the powerhead. Your driveshaft is fused to the crankshaft because no one has greased it. Probably the death of your motor. I've removed a few but most of them are ruined.

    When BRP took over OMC they cleaned up their tolerances and shifted many of their rotax designs to the E-tec....or so I was told when I purchased my first one in 2011. Either way it's not a 4 stroke as the poster is saying.

    4 stroke etech? It's E-tec.... and it's the finest 2 stroke outboard ever made. Your download wouldn't play well when I download the video but common thing on that motor is if the big clamp nut isn't torque correctly you get that nasty sound. Check the big nut on the end of your tilt tube and...

    Yes, agreed. Low water flow at high speeds is the most likely issue but could be many things. Do not take this fine motor out until you discover the problem.

    Could be overheat but usually comes from the remote control or under the dash. Could be a bad sensor or impeller, thermostat....the list goes on. You need to start the test procedure and go from there. I would start by removing the gearcase and look at the pump. Do you have any info on this...

    140 or so is hot but doesn't sizzle the skin. Your hand up on top (head to block connection) you can carefully touch it and keep it there for a sec or two, with no injury.

    Funny, I went online and I couldn't find any cheap stock OEM 3 port fuel pumps....just aftermarket. Easy to be tempted by the cheap aftermarket parts but I just can't do it.

    One is gas in, one is gas out the last one comes from the block to drive it.

    Experts will come along but running without the battery connected ruins the rectifier.....so I'm told. Your outboard doesn't need a battery to run though and the charge coil and the ignition stuff are totally separate.
