    Crooked or warped transom

The amount of foam produced is also a function of the ambient temperature. If you are mixing and pouring near the low end of the prescribed temp range for the foam, your yield will be less. If it’s warmer, you get a more energetic reaction and greater foam volume.

    Newbie Hull Accessory Installation Question

Yes, that will work. It’s a good way to protect the wood from water intrusion.

Flotation Foam in Half of Boat

I would think you would list noticeably. Why would you fix one side know when you’re going to have to rip up the other side in a year? Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Nor does rebuilding the boat without foam.

    Integrated swim platform leaking?

On my boat, on steeper ramps, the stern just floats until the trailer and boat get pulled up the ramp. I suppose if the bow was cinched tight to the bowstop, that might interfere some with stern floating. I'd be looking at the any thru-hull fittings at the back end of the boat, especially those...

    Filler Size Applications?

Chopped fiber and Cabosil. The Cabosil is essential for thickening.

First deck replacement, I have questions

I would strongly suggest you reconsider your choice of Durabak. I used that stuff and it sucks. It is a relatively soft rubberized coating. It is not durable, it wears thru and/or peels in spots, and it will be a major pain in the neck to remove when I need to refinish the deck. It's horrible...

    Integrated swim platform leaking?

I don't understand... why would the swim platform be under water when the boat is on the trailer? Wouldn't the back end of the boat just float if the ramp was that steep?

    Replacing snaps

I've filled holes with a marine epoxy (e.g, PC-11 or Marine Tex) and then drilled and screwed in the snaps. Worked great.

Andersen windows. Trying to get creative here.

Creative and functional, but not so great in the looks department. I'd probably break down and shell out $7 to get something that looked nicer.

    Replacing stringers

I haven't done stringers, but I did replace the deck and transom in my boat. If you're reasonably handy and can stick with a job that is occasionally not much fun, you can fix your boat. Getting someone to do the work can be really expensive and there's always the risk of shoddy work, etc...

Discouragement is starting to set in

You only need to grind off the gel as far up as your repair will go. I can't see much point in going further. Also, it's not a bad idea to lay down some layers of 1708 if you want to build up the hull where you ground it down. 1708 already has CSM on one side, so you really don't need a layer...

Discouragement is starting to set in

The gelcoat has tp go. If that’s all that is covering holes, you want it gone anyway?

Adding a GPS unit to a bowrider

I installed a Humminbird Helix 5 G2 Chirp GPS Combo in my boat. There was just enough room on the dash to squeeze in the base of the unit. It's behind the steering wheel, but still visible. We don't fish either, but it's great for accurate GPS-measured speed, it shows the water temperature, and...

Mine was not self-draining. I installed a drain valve in the hose so I wouldn’t have to pull the hose to drain it.

First deck replacement, I have questions

My outdrive had no play and it ”sounded” solid when knocked on. And it was rotten to the point that I could grab handfuls of it when exposed. Drill some holes, and if all is well, fill them thoroughly with 3M 5200 and no harm done.

    Treated Lumber for Bunk Boards

“Less corrosive” wouldn’t be good enough for me, if my aluminum hull was sitting on those bunks 24/7. I would want ‘non-corrosive’.
