    I think with the two-part urethane foam (like that from US Composites), temp is more of a factor than humidity. I did my foaming when temps were cool, so I heated the cavity to be filled and the hull, to make sure I got good yield of the foam mixture.

    I think PVC boards have considerably less strength than wood. I also wonder if the resin in fiberglass would chemically melt the PVC. It might be interesting to experiment with, but I certainly would build a boat around it.

    Getting tire covers is really a good idea. For infrequently used tires, UV protection will make them last much longer.

    The kit I bought had tubes of color and instructions for color matching. The resulting color isn't perfect, but it's quite close and since it's below the waterline, who cares?

    I'm not sure leaving the lip saves you any work, and it might actually make the job harder. Normally, you'd cut/grind the lip away, run the new deck board up to within a 1/2" or so of the hull, and then tab the deck to the hull with 1708. In your case, you'll have to put cleats of some sort...

    Test fitting everything and doing several dry runs is key when using PB. It's really not bad, and todhunter's suggestions are spot on. You can cool your resin a bit before mixing, too; that will give you a little extra time before it kicks.

    I'd want the wood to be structurally sound; unless your going the glass the heck out of it, the wood will provide the structural strength. (My foam-core stringers get their strength from the fiberglass, and that glass is 1/2" thick; that's a lot of laminating if you're going to rely on the glass...

    Search for canvas

    I would be amazed if you could find one pre-made. Most likely, you will have to get one custom made at a canvas shop. Do you have the metal frame, or do you need that also? I think the frame would be difficult part to locate or fabricate.

    I used an Add A Battery kit to isolate my starting and house batteries. Before I did so, I'd have to restart my Humminbird fishfinder/GPS everytime I restarted the boat. (A pain in the back end when pulling skiers or kids on the tube.) Connecting the electronics to a different battery completely...

    Sorry, can't help you there. I used PB to attach my transom. You might check the manufacturer's web site to see if it will bond to fiberglass.

    I'm pretty sure the U.S. Composites 435 laminating resin is also ortho. (They draw a distinction between their isophthalic and orthothalic resins on the polyester resin page.) Poly resin was not easily available to me locally, but what I found regionally was that the cost was the same (or more)...

    One solution for adding a ski pylon

    I would not be comfortable using a pylon to pull a tube... a booster ball is pretty good at keeping the tow line out of the water. There’s just too much leverage applied to the pylon mounting point when pulling a tube. Your install is nice and clean, but I’d still be concerned about everything...

    It seems there never is enough storage space on a boat... I'd think twice before foaming in the locker. That can be a handy place to store stuff that can handle getting wet.
