    Fuel tank fitting

Question….. what should be used on the threads of this fitting. In addition what is to be used on the fuel fill rubber line? I know about 2 hose clamps must be used on each end. Is there a sealant to be used? Any help would be appreciated.

Gas leaking out of one carb?

Update 6-29 another project that needed attention. The aft locker was toast. I removed that a couple years ago. After removing the rotted wood i made a template out of cardboard. So today I decided to tackle this and use polyester instead of epoxy. Learning curve here. Here’s the locker empty...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

If it’s your first layer I’d probably start over. You need a good bond to the boats original polyester. Hope that makes sense It really should be saturated and clear when doing layers. Just like the picture that tpen posted.

Starter crapped out today, I tapped it with a hammer then it worked.

Probably… had a 76 Volkswagen rabbit that had the same issue. Always carried a hammer with me… the bendix finally gave out.. replaced the starter. others may agree don’t go with an overseas cheapo one. Get the real deal. JMO

    4200 vs 5200

Got it. Thank you. just been getting mixed opinions on what to use. It’s a belly tank that is under the aft cabin. It’s got it’s own compartment. My fear was having the strips move around while getting it in place. Glueing them on would alleviate them shifting while the tank is installed...

    4200 vs 5200

Looking for advice. I’m ready to attached neoprene strips to my new fuel tank. I’ve got a ton of 4200 and very little 5200 available. Can I use 4200 instead of 5200 to adhere the strips? Any guidance would be appreciate. Thanks in advance
