    Mercrusier 5.0 MPI (2008) RPM stops @ 3200.

Just curious, when you attempt to go past 3200 what happens?

    Single point drain winterization

Nice work Lou. I've just been biting the bullet and dissembling it all as it was built but not sure how much longer I"m willing to tolerate it all at my age. Sorry I left my portable toilet in the pic.

    Single point drain winterization

Access is the problem. Had engine builders worked with boat builders in designing interiors that were more mechanic friendly maybe the I/O would still have life left in it. For example why not make the panels on each side of the engine folding and attached with buckles or some sort of quick...

    Single point drain winterization

This is what I do also. I've owned this system new since 2002. I pull the quick disconnects on each side of the block and poke the holes. Some years I will pull a few hoses and poke them also. Never found a block. Now to be fair I'm 100% fresh water.

    Buying a 2021 Sylvan!!

Fenders: Buy the largest storage will allow. I hate it when boaters drag them along deployed full time. Horn: Relax your factory horn will be sufficient.

Engine starts to sputter/breakup/lose power after warm 3.0 ‘98

Borrow a fishing buddies remote tank to run it on to eliminate one side of the equation.

New to me 2015 350 mag, any more maintenance items?

Probably. Mine is a small white filtery/foamy looking thing. As they age with use they turn black. If yours isn't gunked up you're fine to leave it. But as cheap as it is I replace yearly. Amazing the trouble they can cause if not attended to over time.

New to me 2015 350 mag, any more maintenance items?

Replace IAC muffler. Also, you said props so assume it's a Bravo 3? Look... I know it's expensive but buy, and/or build, a drive dolly and check alignment yourself. Shops say they do it, my experience? They never do it. It takes two guys and bunch of time. If it's halfway close they shove...

    2000 Searay vapor lock

Mine is #2 in the attached. Port side low and back. Yours may be entirely different.

    Bow plowing at high speed.

Prop gurus are always talking about bow lifting vs stern lifting props. Can't tell exactly what yours is but you might post it on the prop forum and ask what it's characteristics are. It may be that a prop noted for its bow lifting properties could help. Just a thought.

    Bow plowing at high speed.

What's telling you he has a hook far forward? I can't discern a problem from his pics except maybe post 10. In 10 it's out of focus but if you look at the stern right ahead of the trailer tie down I see what could possible be a hook but hard to tell.

    2000 Searay vapor lock

My 2002 5.0 MPI would do this. I discovered it was the check valve assembly (part #21-864206A). The internal valve had come apart and I believe it was allowing hot water from the block to back fead into the fuel cooler. This would happen on occasion after sitting for 30 -40 minutes the boat...

    out drive gear lube

The tanks do gunk up and it's wise to keep them de-gunked. I clean mine about every 2 or 3 seasons. I remove it, put some mineral spirits in and shake. Might have to use a few Q tips on needle nose pliers to get the corners or hard to reach areas. Dry it out re-install, pump up from bottom...

    out drive gear lube

Not following you. Did you drain the entire system, lube monitor bottle all the way out the bottom hole first?

    Mercruiser ECM Failed?

I'll be following also as I have a 2002 5.0 MPI. I currently have no issues but wondering, does anyone know what are the typical causes of ECM failures?

Merc Alpha4 no longer available. What to replace it with?

Chris just curious, did your Flo torq hub give way any or was it all absorbed by the ally prop?

    Quiet ticking noise

Water shutter possibly. Remove starboard exhaust bellows (if that's where it's the loudest) and see what you have. Once the rubber wears off of them nothing is left but the metal and the metal is hitting the side of the exhaust down elbow.

How do you match new trailer to existing boat?

I wonder will the OP be ok, given the his bunks are turned on end, if the bunks don't align with the stringers? Maybe I'm overthinking it.

How do you match new trailer to existing boat?

I'm following along here because I may be having to do the same in the future. My current trailer is a tubular steel fixed bunk custom made to the boat. When it bites the dust (or should I say rust) I guess I'll be looking at something like you have bought with adjustable bunks (just googled...
