    first, check the ends of the wire at teh gauge and sender (tan wire) check the ground at the gauge most likely its corrosion on the terminals then check resistance of the sender. should be a 230-30 ohm sender (most in the US are)

    One snag of the anchor and the rode will snap that bit of teak right off the bow. Anchor chutes and rollers are usually mounted in heavy stainless weldments for a reason

    agreed, the new torque converters eat themselves when they start to slip (shudder). if you pull the filter, you will most likely find fairy dust.

    seriously, look at a 1996 Chev truck power steering cartridge. GM has used the Saginaw power steering pump for well over 70 years. google Saginaw Power steering pump or Saginaw power steering pressure reducing valve.

    no exhaust shutters. if the motor was only run for a minute or two, then the raw water impeller and maybe the rubber exhaust couplers. if it was run for about 5 minutes or longer, circulating pump, heads, etc.

    Here in Florida, the cover gets washed once a year to remove as much contaminates as possible. then it gets hosed down with 3/4 of a gallon of water proofer. re-water proof in 6 months. longest I can get a cover to last is 5-6 years before the sun/wind takes out the stitching or a hurricane...
