    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Yam and Suz are using superchargers which will increase the maintenance and reliability IMO as well. Looks like they are not supercharged, the Yam needs premium fuel but not Suz Hey you could move your CoG more forward if you add more anchor chain :D

Alpha I Gen I Hinge Pin 'bushings' ?

Don't know why Merc didn't add a bushing with the Alpha, Bravo's have a bushing. As FT mentioned, a good machine shop could add one, and while they are at it, could redo the upper steering pin area. But redoing both could just get a new one

    4.3 GL-D Electrical Issues

Yes but the oil pressure gauge sensor is normally there. Does the oil pressure gauge work? If it does than sensor is elsewhere

    2012 90hp Mercury Steering cable

When replacing mine, I removed the helm, removed the nut holding the jacket and rotated helm until the inner cable came completely out. Took new cable feed into helm in reverse order The gray sheath is a protection cover to keep grease from getting over other things under the helm

Either Teed with oil pressure sensor or look below the Dizzy and it might be there on the rear deck. If there is just a plug filling hole then switch was left out

How do you screw into fiberglass/gelcoat without chipping?

Easiest way I found is run the drill in reverse until you make it thru the gelcoat. You can continue clear thru in reverse so long as you don't run into wood or other, but can go forward once past gelcoat. I like drilling thru gelcoat with a slightly larger whole than needed, switch to correct...
