BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

Agree, the new to the arena FG boat of that day were hollow shells. A 30 hp could provide plenty of power. Bare bones semi V hull, deck was sealed (supposed to be sealed) and provided an air chamber for flotation, and a shell for a deck to support a plastic molded, one piece windshield and...

    same speed with different props

This right here verifies the other replies. Good answer. Sooooo get your 19P back on and your engine will like you better. Also not lugging, your engine may get you a little more MPG.

2003 115HP Mercury 2 stroke engine - cylinder cuts out when cold at full throttle

Looks like you are on top of the fuel as a suspect. On my 2002 90 I had a thermally sensitive CDM that would do what yours is doing. It didn't have the 2+2 function so it was easier to trouble shoot. I don't remember how I isolated it but here is an idea. Start the engine and run it the...

    Hole shot, or up easy?

I have a 115 2+2 and the faster you accelerate the faster the bottom 2 cylinders come on line. As the boat comes up to speed adjust the throttle to suit.

    Fuel problem

Going soft says it is sucking on the fuel line and can't get any flow. You either have a clogged screen in your fuel tanks, crud in your fuel line from degraded fuel inlet line (common) or your tank isn't venting or not venting adequately. Did you happen to cut your fuel filter open to see...

2003 115HP Mercury 2 stroke engine - cylinder cuts out when cold at full throttle

Check your 3 and 4 plugs for oil fouling...if they look fouled replace them. The longer you stay below the kick in speed for 3 and 4 the better chance of plug fouling you have. Mercury has proven and posted information including building the Mark 5-20 with a slanted forward drive train to...

Reverse works at low RPM but ‘slips out’ with throttle

I missed that. My Mercury experience is showing. Sorry.

    2005 Rinker Captiva 192 - should I stay away

From the listings this doesn't appear to be a careless, neglectful owner. If the fiberglass isn't sun baked and you don't have standing water evidence inside the boat, that speaks volumes on condition. Also, this boat is new enough that Rinker used a lot of glass rather than wood in structural...

Negative spray on anti-vent plate -

Vary with trim positions especially when trimmed all the way out....defined as when the RPMs start climbing and the speed starts slowing down? As long as your engine isn't overheating and spray isn't getting in the boat just the price you pay for increased performance....wink!

Reverse works at low RPM but ‘slips out’ with throttle

3 possibilities come to mind: 1. Disconnect the shifter cable at the engine/outdrive end with the control box at max R position.....don't let anything move when you make the disconnect that would affect shifting range. Grasp the lever where it was connected to the shift cable and see if it...

    Prop hitting anode

That's true. I have 2 of those. Certainly the mid range pair vs the high speed pair won't hit the same spot on the TT.....each pair will hit the same spot in different locations. My only alum. props for the last eon were TP aluminum, 3 and 4 blades. I never checked their blade tip...

Does my outboard have a thermostat.

I don't think any of the originally designed, 4 cylinder Mark 30 or Mark55, or the 6 cylinder either up to the Mark 1000 first 100 hp outboard type power heads ever had a thermostat.

BRP reveals a new style of outboard, Rotax powered, horizontal crankshaft....

I think they drowned or sank from the stern since the weight and thrust were so far from the stern and slow speeds and cutting the throttle put the powerhead in the water.....just hoping the cowling seals were working. Owners have posted on here concerning my 2 comments.

Throttle Cable Adjustment 2000 Johnson 90

On my Mercury 2002 vintage, 90-115 HP, I adjust the barrel on the cable at the engine such that the WOT linkage on the engine stops before the control box can run the cable's length disconnected (at the engine). The barrel is moved forward on the shaft in your case then reinserted in the slot...

    WOT rpm range

You have your best hole shot with what you have. Obviously running alone, having a rev limiter or you controlling yourself with the throttle will maintain your 6k rated performance. My engines have always run at mid to top end and when I got older and got to boating alone, I always ran the top...

    Prop hitting anode

If you slide the prop on the shaft and turn till it hits the tab, mark the location the remove the prop, turn it 120 degrees and repeat, then repeat. If all blades don't hit the same point, as others have said, your shaft is bent, the hub is not positioned properly/wrong one/defective, or the...

What type/size of boat to get for the St. Lawerence river?

Not being sarcastic but if you can drop 150k on a boat fuel isn't an issue.
