    I used ratchet straps with the hooks just under the cap edge since the whole cap weighs about 200#, the 5 ratchet straps had between 30# and 70# on them

    and generally, you want to navigate to a spot just a bit out of your destination. auto pilot goes by line-of-site. so if there is a jetty or break-wall in between where you are and the destination, that instant stop becomes painful.
