Alpha one, Gen 1 trim wire retainer bolts?

On my MC1 I used the 54-12078 clamp from a Gen 2 and the one bolt which was 10-28636 (1/4-20 3/4" long). It's working fine. Not sure about using one bolt with original style clamp.

1973 Mercruiser Sterndrive hinge pin question

The boat type isn't that important. There are cotter type pins or nails that have to be removed first. Try not to break them as they are NLA. I screwed a bolt into the hinge pins and used vice grips to pull the hing pins out. If they are really tight you will need a small slide hammer.

    Outdrive wont trim up properly

It might be marked on the pump. If it looks like motor oil then 10W-30 or 10W-40 will work. If it looks like transmission fluid then Dexron will work.

Good thing you caught it in time. I don't have that tee shirt but I have the "forgot to turn the water back on after turning it off for a minute" tee shirt.

    77 Mark Twain Mercruiser help.

Welcome, there should be no problem getting parts for the motor. It is a GM inline 6 so no problem getting it rebuilt if ever needed. Some of the parts may be harder to find for the drive but most if not all are available. The regular maintenance items are not hard to find. Best to get a...

    Boat submarining question

I'm thinking those are jet boats if that's the right term. I've seen large seadoo type bow riders do that. They can put it in reverse at full throttle causing the bow to fill. It is possible to stuff the bow with any boat but it would involve waves or rollers of the right size for the boat.

    reversing with trim tabs

If the trailer doesn't extend past the transom there would be no need to remove them. If it does, then I don't think trim tabs would work out well unless you like getting wet.

Question on exposed hole after taking screw out

If tilting doesn't help could you "extend" the current bracket somehow without removing it from the transom?

Question on exposed hole after taking screw out

Is the transducer on a bracket that's attached to the transom? If so, can you remove the transducer without leaving exposed holes? Then you could mount the transducer in the bilge if it's fiberglass.

Oil Pressure Below Mercruiser Limits Per Manual

Is this a mechanical gauge? Without starting an oil debate why not try it with a recommended weight which is 25W40.

The plug might be exposed but how would UV rays reach the 5200? I wouldn't worry about it.
