    NEW TIRES!

Cars have suspension systems that are tuned to radials, so that's a different story. But for trailers I agree with your assessment 100%. The only time I will put a radial on any trailer is when they don't make a bias in that size and weight rating. ST tires IMHO are crap.

Using a Manual jack plate to fit a 25” shaft motor

You are trying to put the wrong length motor on your boat. So, you need to raise it 5". When you set back a motor, it has to be raised just because of the setback. So, for 10", you need to raise it 2.5". That's in addition to the 5" you already need to raise it. So, you need to go up 7.5"...

Mooring Cover Options for a 1993 Stinray 556?

You are looking for a cockpit cover and a bow toneau cover, not a mooring cover. They were originally options. If they were not ordered they didn't put the snaps in. You will need to have custom canvas made, and the shop will drill the boat and install the necessary snaps. If it were me...

    New pistol for carry

Google the USPTO: https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/de/17/92/1f28e2c414ee85/US7056401.pdf Patents are often made to protect some basic concepts, or to throw the competition off track, but not necessarily to safeguard current practice. The "good stuff" is often kept as a trade...

    NEW TIRES!

I've had tripletreads on my last 2 cars, and also my wife's last 2. Awesome tires. I didn't log in years, but I got 80,000 miles on each set. I just bought a set of Assurance Max Life, only because they didn't make my size in tripletread (20"). t took 6 weeks to get them because the Goodyear...

Purchasing a 1971 23' Winner, no engine, great shape...

I'm a little late in the conversation, but your attitude is refreshing. I have one restoration under my belt, plus a new build from scratch. At the tender young age of 19 I decided I "needed" a boat. Dad, Grandpa and Uncle helped build her. At the tender old age of 60 I decided I "needed" a...

    New pistol for carry

I only bought one box of 50 when I got my first nine. Been rollin my own since then. Dad was a printer and when he retired I got a lifetime supply of boolet lead. I can probably last a couple more years until my primers run out. Hopefully they will be back on the shelves at only high prices...

    New pistol for carry

Wow, lots of firepower there. Now you need to have a dealer that stocks ammo. I haven't seen a round here in almost 2 years. Hope you have good luck with it...

    New pistol for carry

Oh crap, you just made me feel bad......LOL. My Dad had a friend that owned a gas station. He would bring over a 5 gallon bucket of WWs any time I needed some. I would drop over to the station and bring the guys a pizza for their trouble. Every Friday night on the way home I would stop at...

    New pistol for carry

No, I don't have a chrono so I have never collected that data. For handguns I have been experimenting with different powders for 50 years. My criteria are recoil and accuracy. Not too scientific I guess. I have settled on Bullseye for everything up to .38 spl, and Unique for .357 and up. I...

    New pistol for carry

Here's the follow-up range report on the Max 9 on my home range where I can vary the distance. Shoots to POA at 5 yards. As previously reported, shoots ~11" low at 25 yards. Accuracy not to bad for a CC pistol. After 300 rounds still not a malfunction. 10 yards, 20 shots, 2-hand hold, Lyman...

    New pistol for carry

All the Marks are hammer fired pistols. The hammer is concealed. It is commonly accepted that the Mark II is the best of the lot. I used a mark I in Bullseye matched for eons, until I saved enough $ and upgraded to a S&W Model 41. MY score went up about 20 points. That's the only gun I ever...

    New pistol for carry

My collective tastes go toward pre-numbered, pinned and recessed Smith revolvers. But I figure ya need to have a few semis as well. The best pistol I ever owned (and still do) is a 1973 vintage Smith model 39-2....double action hammer fired. In the 40 years I've owned it there have been only...

    New pistol for carry

Yeah, we all have different size / shape hands and levels of experience. Personally, I have never preferred striker fired pistols, but I'm getting used to them. They sure aren't a Smith N-frame equipped with the 3 T's. Truthfully, I did not perceive a change as I shot more rounds. I was...

    New pistol for carry

It ships with a mag that has a capacity over 10 rounds. The "std" and "optics ready" versions all have 10+1 versions, but not the Performance. As an aside, I am a S&W aficionado and thus belong to the S&W forum. I googled "Max 9" on the "other guns" sub forum and found a bunch of stuff. One...

    New pistol for carry

I didn't like the hold or the trigger pull of the Shield Plus. But of course the one I tried was the 10+1 model with the flush mag. The Performance Center model did pique my interest, but unfortunately it isn't compliant over here...

    New pistol for carry

I saw that review before. It was what made me leery about the trigger. In the shop I was pleasantly surprised, and that was confirmed on the range. This is my 3rd striker fired pistol and my perception was that the trigger was better than the other 2. Certainly better than my Glock. I DID...

    New pistol for carry

The dealer had a display of compact 9s. I asked for a shield Plus because up to now I was thinking that would be my choice. It felt OK, the trigger pull was OK and I liked it. Then, to my surprise he said he had a Max 9 too. I was concerned about some of the online reports about trigger...

    New pistol for carry

Well as luck would have it I ended up sealing a deal today. I was toying with a Max 9 or a Shield Plus. Most of the gun shops are almost bare to the walls but on a whim I stopped in one of my favorites this morning. I couldn't believe they had both. After trying both there was no contest...

    New pistol for carry

You must have looked at the 13 cap mag models if the trigger pull didn't bother you. Certainly, plastic is the majority, but not the "only". I often carry a Chief's Special", and they are still available. Even blue ones with nice wooden grips...
