Hi. Good idea to fill it with diesel for sure. You should have a manual lift pump on the engine mechanical fuel pump. This allows you to manually pump fuel to the secondary Engine filters. With the bleed screw open on these and using the manual pump, you can bleed up to that point.
If the...
Mine is amazingly rock solid at its top speed. Think the pad helps. Can literally take your hands off the wheel at 67 mph, if I was silly enough. But I’ll admit I got a real fright one day…was running flat out and high…next to a friends supercharger ski…paying too much attention to him to notice...
Can’t emphasise enough how much proportional power to speed gain is required, to see any real speed gains through water…especially when it comes to anything around or over 50. As @jimmbo says earlier…it takes serious power and hull ability to achieve and deal with speeds like that. This is my...
I get you. Totally. But just looking at that hull…to me..it’s not a boat that wants or should ever have a big engine on it. Apart from all that…perhaps it may not be too responsible to suggest anything out with the sensible realms, without knowing the experience, ability or capability of the...
Definitely compression test her. They are quite well known for warping the head on them after the mildest of overheat. Check the cap on the expansion tank is correct and holding its pressure as it should (until it shouldn’t obviously). Not a fan of these engines to be honest. Loads of them had...
Make sure that battery is tip top. All efi things need loads of sure thing power, so they can crank and fire at the same time. Often the cranking takes a fair load away from the rest and it just won’t go.
I’d be quite sure the guys claiming 50 and certainly 60, are telling tall tales ! Not a chance. You’d need her mounted sky high and with a cleaver. 50 may be achieved with a bit of work…but 60 is going to be a tough one for sure. To see 60 in the water is a serious barrier to get to. It takes...
As for engine size. I don’t think that looks any more than 14ft long. Surely back in those days, you wouldn’t be putting a 85hp anywhere near that ? More like 50 at most ?
I was being a coward with my conviction and waiting for others to post…but I have to say that I’m not totally convinced that’s actually a Glastron at all. Although I’ll also admit I’m not 100% sure. It’s not like any Glastron I know of, unless it’s been adapted a little from original. The...
Most likely that at least one or both batteries are buggered, I’m afraid. Long story short and in simple terms…if your a battery shows less than around 12.5v at rest…it’s not good news. I’d have a go at testing them individually. You may find that one completely gone battery is dragging the...
Hopefully you are right in thinking that you just need what you’ve described…but the pessimism and experience in me around closed cooling systems, might suggest that a leaking cooling tank cap might be leaking 9 out of 10 times…as a result of it just doing it’s designed function…as in relief of...
Hi…as said above from AD is all relevant..in addition is to make sure you have any spare ends properly terminated with a yellow resistor cap. If all else is seen to above…you can then calibrate which is the master helm feed etc.
if that’s not of use, tell me more details of the situation you...
