    You have a restriction somewhere before your primer bulb. Could be the pick up in tank…a check valve after it…or quite common to find your primer bulb is the wrong way round. The fuel tank vent could be blocked too.

    Yeah. I’ve recently seen this very thing on a selva engine. Same engine as this, I’m sure. Was blistered all around the top end too. That engine was a commercial used thing and ran at near full throttle most of the time.

    Sounds like an expensive service there. Merc allow and encourage you these days to service your own. They even mark the service items now. Costs pennies and doesn’t void the warranty when using oem parts. Just log the maintenance on the vessel view and it records it on the database worldwide...
