    Exactly. My parents used to ski behind a 17ft 2 berth with a 40 Yamaha. Completely normal back then. This boat should plane with 70hp and a few onboard. Just needs propped well. No doubt more power would be better…but should do ok with a 70.

    Is that just after it’s been running or what it would be after leaving it for a day or two ? What cca is the battery rated to ? Sorry to go on. Just trying to help and know for sure this can cause what you have.

    Surely she will plane 3 up, if the prop is well suited ? When I was a kid…a 70hp was a big engine. Jeez…similar sized boats would pull a skier with as much and less too.

    I’m not sure that would totally rule it out for me to be honest. Be worth trying another battery still. What is the voltage showing when the battery is at rest and nothing drawing from it ?

    Yeah. You can find good ones cheap enough, if you look for long enough. I just think anything else other than a merc prop, is just a waste of time. Nothing like the quality and finish they have.

    As said. 6 and 8 are the same. 9.9 and 15 bigger and the same as each other. Significantly heavier that the 6/8 too.

    I’d urge you just to go get a good stainless merc prop. All the rest are simply a distant compromise. Well worth the money for sure.

    What boat is it trying to push and what pitch prop is on it. They come with a 7 or 8” prop new, usually.

    What prop do I use on a regal lsr 1800 dti Deisel

    I know an identical boat and it had a 19 and a 21” props for it. Did just around 40 or just over. They need a little load on them to spool up the turbo. Not without their issues these engines. Turbo issues are common. You either get a good one or a bad one. Most are bad, I’m afraid.

    Yeah. Defo worth a try. That’s extenuating I was saying. Can really throw you off blaming the battery, because it can still crank healthy. But with these new things…the cranking can take enough juice away from everything else so that it then won’t even try to fire up. It thinks there isn’t...

    I’m still thinking like I was originally. Voltage (battery) and or connection issues around the battery. Especially when you say it beeps after ignition is left on for a while.

    WOT rpm range

    It’s not quite as high as that. More around 6100 or a wee bit over at most. I’ve got the smart craft readout and vessel view. Gives exact rpms from ecu and currently propped that it will hit limiter if I let it go long enough. At around 43/44 mph gps and about 6100.
