    oil is mixed with the gas.-----Some oil / gas mixture goes right through the motor.----I say it is normal.----Was there any water INSIDE the gearcase that drained out with the gear oil ?

    If adjustment at shift lever is correct , take lower unit apart.----Inspect bronze bushing above pinion.---Inspect bottom bearing surface on driveshaft.---Insoect forward gear and clutch dog.

    I do not believe the 1960 model 10 HP uses that plastic detent.----Part #204490 is NLA and first used on 1962 model 10 HP.

    Board room decision to promote 50:1 as the general public thinks "----if it can run at 50:1 mix it must be an improved motor "-----I say it all the time oil mixed with gasoline and 2 stroke lubrication is NOT well understood.

    You lock the magneto plate in position.----Full throttle or idle does not matter.----Remove wire from coil to ground.-----Make sure lock down screw on points is TIGHT .----Turn flywheel till timing mark is between the 2 marks on magneto plate ----Lift the flywheel off.----Use meter ( ohm scale )...
