    3.0 MPI distributor? Specs needed

I saw that distributor. Sent him an offer he declined. There’s actually one listed on Car-part for $50 but no mention of condition

    3.0 MPI distributor? Specs needed

Thanks. It’s the only part that’s a real hiccup.

    3.0 MPI distributor? Specs needed

Ideally I want the sniper to control the advance. The sniper can operate a magnetic pickup on its own I’m pretty sure . think that is what they’re ready to run distributors do. Just pass the signal directly to the ECU but ones not available for the 153 If I leave the sniper out of the equation...

    3.0 MPI distributor? Specs needed

I emailed Tom to see what he can do… Looks like the EST could work, but it would need to be run with an external module, removing the internal and 3D printing a grommet insert vs the original module. I’m not 100% sure if the Sniper can control a distributor directly

    3.0 MPI distributor? Specs needed

So they don’t use a mechanical advance? The chip does it all?

    3.0 MPI distributor? Specs needed

I need a distributor with locked timing to run fuel injection on an old 153 that I’m putting in my rat rod ( 1970 Mercruiser 2.5 ) First will the 3.0L MPI distributor fit? And second. What kind of trigger does it use? Hall effect or optical?… the reason is I may go down the turbocharging rabbit...

Need help identifying a 1978(?) Starcraft, 27' long

Not anywhere near $8k… if you want a house boat hull it’ll work, and if your thinking non planing speeds, 20hp will scoot it at displacement speed without much trouble. I would investigate the bracket more but it should handle it. CDN, I’d think $2,500. Id have a hard time with $1,500 myself

    Trailer Updating Help Needed?

In my eyes, it’s scrap. That wheel arrangement is common on wood splitters. I don’t think there is a hub to convert it. Perhaps there is and you can save it. But with that axle, a new trailer is probably less than the cost of refurbishing

Need help identifying a 1978(?) Starcraft, 27' long

The outboard looks to be very small. With that setup, it could probably hold 25-30hp 4 stroke. But I agree with the others. It’s a cobbled up mess. Doesn’t look quite right

Any old ford I have with EEC IV controls, I keep a spare TFI in the glove box. I sold my last one a couple years ago. Never needed a spare though but always hear the stories

I couldn’t find rebuild information ( and subsequent bearing information ) on GM parts. But I did find this. Bearing appears to be 14mm, or 13mm depending on which side https://www.maniacelectricmotors.com/12vhialforch.html

I’m not sure. The 4.8 I have does not but some apps possibly? I can find out via parts dept since I work for GM now

Appropriate HP outboard for '65 Starcraft Mustang?

The spec sheet from Fiberglassics does indeed say 21”. And yes, prior to 1986ish for OMC, horsepower was crank rated. After 1986 was prop rated.. the difference in rating led to about a 5hp loss on the same engines. You could get a DF30A and have it basically like an old 35hp. But 4 stroke...

Appropriate HP outboard for '65 Starcraft Mustang?

That’s going to be a short shaft, so 25hp is the limit in modern times. That is basically an old 30hp. You can get a Suzuki DF25A and put the DF30A ECU in it along with the 30A intake and that will get you a short shaft 30hp for around $6k

How to register a boat without a title or original bill of sale.

If this were NY. It would probably be easiest to register it as a home made boat. Without a legible serial number there’s no real way to recover what it was

    Caddy XT5 Towing Capability

Traverse, Acadia and the XT5 are all the same basic vehicle. All have the 3.6L with AFM. The Colorado 3.6 is a slightly different animal. The 2.0L Ecoboost is quite an engine. The little maverick is ‘rated’ to something like 5000 lbs. it does the work of a V6. The Explorer with its 2.7...

    Caddy XT5 Towing Capability

Basically an Acadia. 3.6L isn’t a very good engine. The killer on the high end GMs is the infotainment screen runs the car, so if it borks and needs an update, your car needs towed in. I got a job at a GM dealership now. Love working there, but it is interesting what cars are coming in for
