    I get you. But I’d defo have it in mind to do it ASAP, if you can. It’s only a matter of time. I wouldn’t normally mention such a thing with any other motor and injection system…but those in particular are just ticking time bombs

    Anchor line/rode size

    It’s just the standard “Bruce” anchor. Often called an M anchor too. I don’t think there is a better type of anchor for general use in that type of bottom. I’ve tried many. As you’ll also know…all about the chain too though.

    For an inland lake and generally anchored in soft muddy or Sandy bottom…I have about 10/15ft of chain and a 5kg Bruce anchor. Use it for my 19ft and have the same for my 18ft. As long as that chain is on the bottom it’s always been good. Anything wilder or leaving overnight…might need more...

    Although I’d think you should use a 15w40 in there…I don’t think what you are using is solely to blame for your issue. It’s more likely that your oil has become thin and diluted with fuel, if she is a carb and has been ran at idle for too long for a sustained period…or your engine is running...

    I had this issue with the 3.5 version. Very very similar set up. Had the flywheel off and everything to check key wasn’t slipping etc. Turned out that these things are famous for taking oil up through the carb after being left on their side for even a little while…and on the correct side too...

    If it’s a normal carb 2.5l with oil injection…I’d defo be disconnecting the injection system and pre mix the fuel at 50-1. These things are famous for the injection system failing.

    I didn’t think there was anyone still brave enough to still have a 2stroke carb 2.0/2.5l with oil injection still operating. Jeez, I learned that lesson the hard way, in my youth. Never again on those engines, will I trust it.
