    Just a wee video to show you how good these things are. I have a 2016 115. Had her since 18 hours. Now has 1100 and faultless. Pushes my 19ft cuddy to 45/46 mph gps. Shouldn’t…but does. The pro xs version is something else again.

    Without doubt and unequivocally…the Mercury 115 2.1l CT is the best engine that size. There is just simply no arguing or dispute around that. It’s the lightest and most powerful 115 on the market currently. Despite being a 2.1l engine. Quite simply…nothing comes close

    It sure is. Quite prone to getting perished or corroded abs drawing air, not allowing the impeller to pull water well.

    Fairly high readings on the hull, for sure. Anything over 45 is considered needing attention and water has ingressed for certain. 30-45 even, is likely needing attention. Ideally less than 20 is considered fairly good.

    Have you possibly hit bottom ? One of many many issues it could be. Bad fuel is another common issue these days.

Just a quick look at the first one that comes up on google…a sun tracker 21 or 22…comes fitted with the 115 merc (Exaxt same engine discussed above) command thrust...

    They are very light to be fair. I’ve the same engine but the 115. They only weigh 160 kgs. As light or lighter than most 2 strokes of 115hp at least. I’ve got mine on a 19ft.

    Hi. As said. You don’t technically set the timing that way. There are two lines on the distributor assembly area. You line it up between them and the ecu takes over the job. As long as it’s on the right rotation obviously

    It doesn’t Chris. Rh prop. That’s how I change the prop often. Lock in reverse to undo and forward to tighten. Always have done.

    Absolutely, when stationary my outboard’s prop currently will lock and not turn anti clockwise when reverse is selected. Opposite when in forward. Quite sure of it. At least when it’s in a state that I change props on it. Know what you are saying though.
