    MD11C VP 2cyl.

It’s possible. But I suspect the difference is that you may have one of the later models with a starter motor and not the earlier engine that could be either hand started or in some cases (emergency life boats…) air started.

Mercruiser Catalyst Manifolds are Lifetime / No replacement necessary

Hi..I am also a little confused about what is being asked...But got me thinking about a cat exhaust fitted on an engine identical to mine and only 7 years younger...where is the cat actually located in the exhaust and does it reduce her power at all ? Also thought it a good excuse to show off my...

    Replacement engine Questions

Hi...I was a little reluctant to even reply to this...but thought I would add some thoughts, that others more knowledgeable than I might either build on or put a stop to or correct right away... I may be wrong and/or confused by nature or perhaps being just in from the pub (for the first time...

    Odd 4.3 overheating

Hi. The most obvious thing that comes to mind right now, is around the idea that you may have slightly overheated a little the first time. If you did…you may have damaged and dislodged one or both of the exhaust flappers. This may result in one or both of them melting off and finding their way...

    '93 2-stroke 15hp won't start, has run recently.

You’re kind of right. Many people in modern times maybe forget how to start a old 2 stroke. I can mention that with all my old 2 Stoke Yamaha lovelies… and literally just this evening being out all night with a 40hp yam 2/ boat of a pals…every single one of them start best with one particular...

    '93 2-stroke 15hp won't start, has run recently.

Hi..if your gauge is correct, you have low compression. I wouldn't ever put starter fluid into a 2 stroke either. But even with the low compression...a carb clean should help a little.

VP DPS-A- running two different pitch propellers?

I’d imagine one of the reasons behind it, would be uneven loading of that lengthy big contra prop shaft ? Who knows.

  17. Q

    Outboard for 26 ft bayliner

Just my thoughts on this…having messes about a bit with auxiliary engines…you could have 100hp on a bracket…but unless it’s mounted properly in terms of height and being able to have the lower unit low enough to be below the hull…it ain’t going to go anywhere. Height and set up is so important...

Looking For A New Gps/Depth Finder.

I’ve always had success by using Vaseline or petroleum jelly to mount in various locations temporarily, to find the best spot. Once found…a big blob of silicone with no air in it…carefully ease the transducer into it, being careful not to get air in there. Works a treat…fine for through...
