    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

I’m fact. Make sure the impeller isn’t jammed up. Have a look underneath and into intake grate with a torch

    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

You could try turning the impeller or pump shaft if you can get to it. if you’re very very careful and with plugs out.

    Mercruiser shifterplate

Plus one for the above. Very common for guys to get confused with its operation. Some think it should operate going into both gears. Rather than coming out of gear perhaps. With regards to the expectation that normal operation of a boat should be expected on a trailer…also common. But not the...

INBOARD marine 350 Chevy running too cool!

Think that’s what i concluded too Chris. Defo all over the place. You’re right though. Looks like early raw water cooled look like they spec 160. Later I think 140. On a side note. One thing I’ve been aware of recently…my mpi 5.0 runs about 152/153 99% of the time. But I know of at least 3...

INBOARD marine 350 Chevy running too cool!

Think we might have disagreed about this not too long ago. Haha. Can’t remember the details. But as far as I know Chris, my current raw cooled is a 160 t stat for sure. Always thought all raw were 160 and closed were 140. But I’m aware that this may depend on where you are and fresh or salt...

INBOARD marine 350 Chevy running too cool!

agree with the above and think you’ve got a hold on things. But 140 sounds normal for a closed cooled system. Only thing that perked my brain…was around the idea of 375hp from a 350 carb marine engine. Sounds high to me perhaps

    Fuel problem

Either fuel pump or the primer bulb and fuel like from tank are connected the wrong direction for flow…

    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

Hi. Out with it being the actual starter that’s the issue…it sure sounds like you might have a hydro lock situation here. I’d take the plugs out and try turning it over. You’ll soon know if water comes out the plug holes. If this is the issue. It’s most often caused by one of two ways. Either...

Want to verify that I have the right prop (Mercruiser MC-1)

Think you need to just try it as she is now. Tell us how she goes. See what ratio is stamped on the new drive

2020 Yamaha 115 vmax cooling issue

That’s your issue. That impeller is finished. All cracked, perished and really poor shape. Get a genuine Yamaha one and do the whole assembly too. All will be well.

1989 Mariner, 115hp, four cyl., carb. 9 amp Mod# OC00000268 parts numbers question.

Don’t suppose you had this hooked up to jump leads connected to a running car or truck at the time ? Just a thought. Quickest way to blow components on a rectifier charge system like this.

    1995 Yamaha 2 stroke #5msht mix ratio

50-1. Older Yamaha were stated 100-1. I have 3 of them currently. I always mix them 50-1 though.

    Mercruiser 5.0 engine oil capacity

Just to add to this. I’m going to put a little more oil in mine, going forward. It’s so strange that same era 5.0’s have two different suggested capacities. One is 4.2 and the other is 5.5. Mine from empty takes 4l to see nearly full on dip stick with filter empty. Around 4.2/4.3 litres total...

    Mercruiser 4.3 carb weep

Not sure you should ever need thread tape on a fuel fitting. Possibly even considered really poor practice even. So is this the main fitting into the carb you mean ? There is sometimes a strainer mesh in there if it is. Is it that fitting you mean ? Has it been cross threaded for it to be leaking ?

    warning buzzer problem

Oil injection tank level or compressor issue would be the two favourites, given the impeller was replaced to rule out an overheat

    Should I install Fuel/Water Separator?

You’ll know better about these things than I Chris. With that in mind…being fair…the mercruiser 4.3 of mine pictured there doesn’t 100% tell for certain a clear image of a filter where I’ve indicated. Looks like it might be…but unless I’d found that picture of it…I’d have sworn the fuel filter...

    Should I install Fuel/Water Separator?

The full size pics. You’ll notice the VP also had a pre filter too on bulkhead.

    Should I install Fuel/Water Separator?

Pretty certain of it Chris. Although I bought the boat used…the boat was on the Loch here since brand new when she was imported and supplied to the original owner through Windermere aquatics (along with another 2 identical that year). Neither of these engines had an electric fuel pump I’m sure...

    Should I install Fuel/Water Separator?

They both had the filter on the engine actually. The mercruiser was 1990. The VP an 89. The VP also had a pre filter on the bulkhead.

    Should I install Fuel/Water Separator?

I’ve actually got an old picture of the engine somewhere. See if I can find it.
