    Some good stuff happening

Based on my research, a 100 amp service will be way more than sufficient for my needs, now and going forward. The pic below shows the current metered panel. The power company will only get involved if I bring power from the transformer. They simply refused to hook me up from the existing...

    Some good stuff happening

Yeah, 18" would be great! But alas, it's 25 feet from the house to the garage. And I need to deal with that slope as well. Can ya see the orange extension cord? Slope needs to be filled and graded on the left side. Tapping into the meter panel is the cheapest way to go but I'm...

And this is where I plan to bring power in from the underground cable (orange oval) and set up the main service panel (red box). The small white boxes are 2 sets of 2-gang switches. A pair for the lights and a pair for the fans. The blue box is where I'll have one of the duplex outlets.

The dashed items in the schematic won't be directly connected to the rigid metal conduit cables or outlets but will instead be daisy chained to each other. That not only saves work but money too. Sorta like these LED shop lights:

    Some good stuff happening

So this week I've done a lot of thinking (as noted above!) and figuring and calculating and whatnot. A pain. Trying to figure out what electrical requirements I have now, in addition to what may be needed in the future, is a PITB. But I came up with a preliminary load sheet, as follows...

    Some good stuff happening

Dinner was great. Back to the update! Yesterday we spent several hours cleaning out and clearing out my old shed. I had a BUNCH of old junk in there. Computer, TV, stereo and other wiring junk that I've had for 30 years. Trashed it all. Plus a bunch of construction stuff from when I got...

Send some warm weather my way

This is what it's like here now. Sucks! Just too hot. Didn't have winter here this year. Blech. I'll have to start cutting the grass next week if this keeps up!! :yell:

    Some good stuff happening

Almost lost a big chunk of my concrete funding today! A buddy sent me a link to this little Kubota L225 tractor loader with bush hog for sale for just $2k, which is dirt cheap! Made my head spin and I started trying to figure a way to wheel and deal to get it and yet keep the concrete...

    Some good stuff happening

Thanks! It's always good to make progress. What helps the stuffiness the most is having lower humidity! It was over 90% humidity this weekend with temps in the 80s. Ugh! Today it's 67 degrees with humidity in the mid-60s. Much nicer! And here's the inside of the Kingfisher right after...

    Some good stuff happening

Here's the completed used big unit. Not as pretty as the new one, but it'll hold cans of paint and whatnot. ;) And it already had a paper towel holder mounted on the side. Bonus!

    Some good stuff happening

Got the new hammered shelving unit all done. The shelves are fully primed, painted and ready for use. I can start transferring stuff to it later today or maybe tomorrow. Plenty of other things keeping me busy. Also got 4 out of the 5 shelves on the larger unit done. Still have one side of...

    Some good stuff happening

Making some progress today. Getting primed... And getting painted... Just waiting for paint to dry now, then we can do the flip sides. Sooo... if I take an old, bowed, beat up and stained particle board shelf and clean it, paint it and turn the bowed side up, does that count as new?

    Some good stuff happening

On my way home from a doc appt today I picked up this used shelf for 15 bucks. Particle boards are bowed and punky, one was replaced with plywood and also needs attention. But the price was good enough. Took a pic after I plopped it into the truck. It was well after dark by the time I got home...

    Some good stuff happening

I didn't even know the unit was going to have a hammered finish until I opened the box. I like it a lot though. Gives an industrial look. :) Duly noted and action taken! I just now went out there and shot a quick coat of primer on one shelf. Will get as much done as I can with the leftovers...

    Some good stuff happening

Removed the wooden bookcase and hauled it and a pile of other stuff off to the dump. Finally. As I was moving stuff from that old wooden bookcase and onto the wire frame cubbies, I had a problem. When I placed something on the 2nd lowest shelf, the top cubby came apart (in spite...

    Some good stuff happening

In spite of some bad flu bugs going around which affected my health, I did get a few things done in the garage over the last week. Almost 10 years ago a neighbor gave me this old floodlight. It's just been sitting around unused since then. Thought I'd see if I could get it working to provide...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Well, I finally got the stainless cleats mounted today. Had a bout with the stomach flu going around and it clobbered me pretty good for 4 - 5 days. Ugh. :puke: I did take the KF out fishing one day last week for just a couple of hours. Went with my neighbor buddy. It was his...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Over on the port stern gunwale I started to add the new stainless cleat. Pulled some extraneous screws leftover from a PO installation of some kind. Got the screws out and the holes lined up with one end of the new cleat just fine. And I have stainless screws to mount it too. But! I can't...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Well, I did a little work on the KF this afternoon. Very little. But something anyway! And now I have a mess to clean up. I wanted to remove this old lift handle from the starboard stern gunwale. Need it for another project and also to make room for a new stainless cleat. But the...
