    Popped through the intake.

My experience with my 4.3 is that even with a dropped cylinder it's still smoother than my 3.7.

Found some rocks with my prop...

I don't have $4000 worth of Ranger on my Ranger.

Found some rocks with my prop...

I'll do some bench side truing, but the prop is only $110 new and again, I don't even know who would do it around here. The pita factor isn't worth it. Wondering if I should buy another identical prop or go with something SS/fancier, if any gains would be worth it. This prop pulled my old ass up...

Lower unit not going in gear?? Mercruiser alpha1 gen2

does the prop lock in either direction if the shift shaft is turned all the way in both directions? Sometimes the prop needs to be moving a bit for the gears to engage.

Found some rocks with my prop...

Like the title says, I found some rocks the other day. Going to blame my inexperienced crew member, since obviously it wasn't my fault. Generally not a ton of obstacles around me, this is my first ground strike in 16 years. One dent on one blade with a fairly small amount ground off. No...

Yes. You should be able to lock the prop when turning the CCW if the halves are separated

It should No exact point on the controller. You can tell easily enough though, as long as the engine doesn't rev before the drive clunks

    Oil, pressure safety switch

Afaik the ps-64 is the only other one at least that I could find. I've had both fail multiple times unfortunately.

    MC-1 Drive Dog failure?

Your lower cable adjusts to a different spec than the alpha, 5 ⅞ or something, iirc. Also you have the cable full up in the slot?

    MC-1 Drive Dog failure?

I wouldn't overthink the adhesive. Permatex works fine. And that tube is removable...

Keep blowing my starter solenoid up.

Same general concept. But I don't remember the point of this thread anymore.

    MC-1 Drive Dog failure?

Interesting. Wonder if the MC-1 is different? I've never needed a special socket for an alpha.

Keep blowing my starter solenoid up.

Yes, but in something with a fixed resistance (light bulbs, poor connections) the current drawn is proportional to the voltage.

    454 mag mpi chuggles/stalls

I'm just looking at post #73. Good engine has initial drop/snap back as engine first fires and settles at 21. This is still higher than I'd think it should be (would be only 11 mmhg vacuum). Bad engine has initial drop, but no snap back, it returns gradually to 26, so only 4 mmhg vacuum at that...

    454 mag mpi chuggles/stalls

So I'm not sure. The MAP is initially appropriate, ~15. Then the IAC keeps opening and the MAP increases, which would indicate more air getting to the sensor via the IAC, throttle open, or leak. The injectors look to be responding appropriately to the MAP and RPMs. If this was unmetered air the...

Did you try unplugging the iac? Missed if it's still running ok using cheap injectors?
