    charging a boat battery

My boat came with a 2 year old Everstart marine battery. The biggest one they make. I had very little faith that it was any good, but I stuck it on the bench and charged it until it lit up green and it actually did not take long. Since then it spun the motor over multiple times including at the...

    Finally Had To Retire It

Ny. But when I needed parts, they were NLA. I found NOS points. Water pump and stuff was available. I don't even need the motor now, so it just sits on a stand.

    Finally Had To Retire It

I think the 4cyl 650's were distributor/ ignition. Magneto up to 65, and breakerless after that but I can't remember.. I have a '64 that was my grandfathers that I can't get parts for

Intex Mariner 4 - Certificate of Origin and first assignment question

I bought my Seahawk from Amazon. I did not even file that part of the MSO with the NY DMV and they accepted it. However with Home Depot, they sell trailers and know how to fill out the MSOs for them. I just bought one from them and it was done in Customer service

    remove woodruff from tapered shaft?

yup, just protect the threads with the nut. I forgot to mention to pull up slightly when you hit it

    remove woodruff from tapered shaft?

thread the nut on so the threads are flush. Get a brass hammer, hold the collar in your hand tight, and give it a couple light wacks. All the parts will be left in your hand with zero damage

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO. CHANGE

Boat's are not cheap.. The $25 skip white HEI your probably thinking of isn't going to cut it, and it just might blow up your boat

    Boat and trailer length

I remember my dad leaving his in 1st gear, rather than reverse. Use the brakes to get it close, then let it roll back and let the clutch out and pull the trailer out once the boat started to float. It does the same thing as hitting the brakes if you have a 5spd, and you can do that all while not...

    Running without Reverse Gate..?

A jet is always pumping, direct drive, the impeller is always spitting water out the back, they draw water from the bottom so there is no way to mechanically reverse... The reverse gate serves a purpose as a neutral, by letting water flow both forward and reverse, and as a reverse by fully...

    Connecting Kicker Motor

The cheapest way to get what you want is the Attwood kit which costs $20.. If the steering link is too short ( by looks, it is not too short ), you can get stainless all thread at fastenal with the right thread to use the quick ball joints and brackets from the Attwood kit. If your in fresh...

Starcraft Floor Replacement - Plywood? Rivets?

Don't use pressure treated wood period. Modern PT has copper in it and, a little chemistry will tell you what dissimilar metals do to eachother.. ACX,BCX, or even prime sheets of CDX will be just fine. and stainless screws can work just fine

    1985 OMC 3.8 v6 exhaust manifold questions

I think your right.. I had forgot about the Chevy Odd fire V6's. Still based off the SBC but very different in some ways to the 4.3L

    1985 OMC 3.8 v6 exhaust manifold questions

The problem is a double whammy. You have an OMC stringer drive, built in the last year they were manufactured, AND you have a 3.8L which was used pretty much only by OMC, and also 1985 would have been the last year for it. The 3.8L and 4.3L are very different. The 3.8L is a Buick engine...

What year outboard is this Super Seahorse 40hp?

Yup, the top is even marked " Vent ". I use a 1qt outboard gear oil pump and standard Quicksilver gear lube as that is what is available locally, and pump from the drain up to the vent, just like your supposed to.. The first time I changed it, when I noted a little water in the oil I pumped...

    Boat and trailer length

I agree with you, but I was stating that it can make a difference on a D21 pickup. It was designed and built in the time that air shocks were being added for just that. Was it right, no but it worked for what it was.

    Running without Reverse Gate..?

I am not affiliated with this place in any sort. I saw a walk through of this junkyard on Youtube recently and they had a bunch of jet boats. It seems the reverse gate from any Force powered Sport Jet would work, at least in my mind. And pretty much all the jetboats from the mid 1990's except...

    Identifying Eska outboard

It looks like that, because that is exactly what it is.. They were built with Power Products 2 stroke engines that were later branded Tecumseh after they bought Power Products, or the name changed. I don't exactly remember. Toro single stage snowblowers ran a very similar engine until the 2...

    Boat and trailer length

In general yes, but shocks effect the spring rate. On a tiny truck like a D21 it WILL make a difference. This is why things like air shocks used to be popular for towing
