    Not sure what is in your tool box.----I use very , very fine lapping compound in the bushing and run needle in and out.----Cleans up the thread and gets rid of burrs / imperfections.----Works all the time !!

    Repeat.---The bushing must spin freely on the needle!----It is the packing that holds it tight in the carburetor.

    Yes , many times.----Make sure the needle moves easily in the bushing.-----Then the packing washers will keep it from spinning inside the carburetor.

    Check gear oil.----Try another prop.

    On some early motors the cam to operate points is part of flywheel..----Therefor the crank does not need to spin to make spark.----Just like many modern motors.-----The crank does not need to spin to make spark.

    Try another prop on that Johnsuki.------Was lower unit off for water pump work ?

    If cylinders are still like the pictures you posted the motor is scrap.----Need some good parts for a 9.5 then come over and pick them up.----It is ridiculous that any mekanik would say that motor is ready to run.---That is if pictures are a true indication of the motor today !!

    Why were pictures of a scored cylinder posted.--Or was that before you installed new O/S pistons in this thing.------You are not convinced that this motor is junk based on your pictures here??.

    These motors are famous for broken piston rings.-----Post your actual compression numbers here.----Keep them for future reference.----Replacing parts can get expensive in a hurry.

    I doubt that will work !!---Simple as that.----That will work on say a 1979 model Johnson 6 HP.
