    Stick to the fletcher. You’ll notice a serious drop in hull capability. If you do go got it...put some money aside for a replacement used merc. At least the trim pump can be saved though. They work on mercs too.

    Great advice above. Often that the age old method using engineers marker blue is forgotten about. Shows high and low spots and other axial indicators too. Grease works too, as mentioned.

    Common thing to think that bad fuel can be resolved with fresh fuel added. Very few get away with that idea to be honest. Usually always means carb clean at least and emptying tank out. Not hard to do. That’s what I’d be doing. onviously assuming that compression is good on the engine firstly.

    I’m not sure to be honest. It is low and out of spec from the rest at 100. But given the history of these engines over the years...it is likely a sign to pay attention to. You sound like you know your stuff...but I would really just keep an eye on that. Check that plug to see what’s happening...
