    Boat listing to left

being a 1988, I guarantee there is wet foam in it on the port side unless you just did a restoration. there probably is also a hook did you drill-test the stringers on the port-side of the bilge?

The 08 is CSM stitched. I would use poly over epoxy because epoxy isn't worth the extra cost.

Look for something heavy on the port side

There should not be a black layer. Just gel and fiberglass over foam. Black usually indicates some sore of bacterial or mold issue CSM can not be used with epoxy, neither can 1708. CSM requires the styrene to break down the binders Using epoxy requires cloth and 1700 And you can not gel...

do you have paperwork with your boat from the prior owner? registration, etc.? if not, you may have an up-hill battle. see your local registration office. they will most likely issue a new serial number or HIN.

Cam profile choice - Volvo B20B

yes, assuming that is a marine grind. your marine motor does not share the cam with the automotive motors.

    1969 Boston Whaler hull peel

how far did you have to grind. if you just ground thru the gel, then a coat of 1.5 oz CSM would be fine prior to sanding and re-gel or paint. if you ground a few layers deep, build back up with 1708

first, welcome aboard. second, if you dont find a fiberglassed deck on any fiberglass boat, someone else was in there and did a deck-over. they leave the factory with fiberglass covering the core material. Chap has been doing fiberlass decks for about 50 years.

    1969 Boston Whaler hull peel

your 55 year old whaler made it 40 years past when it was designed to last. if you have any moisture in the foam core I would scrap it. you cant dry them out. if you grind fiberglass, you must replace the fiberglass. pic #2 says you are almost thru to the foam.

Cam profile choice - Volvo B20B

because you are running a wet exhaust and the other cams are street cams with too much reversion.

    1990 5.7L L.E. OMC Cobra - Various Questions

Most of the king cobra parts are NLA The Holley carb appears original. Volvo used a mix of Holley (higher performance motors) and Rochester (base engines) in the 80's then went only Holley starting in late 89
