Will boat for this style trailer?

Not all are made that way, rather than recessing the cross members they add keel rollers. Many trailers are designed for heavy fiberglass boats and other are designed for lighter aluminum boats. Some trailers are just bunks only and other are all roller trailers, and others are a combination...

Will boat for this style trailer?

If that were my trailer, it would have a keel roller on each crossmember. Ask any mfgr....the strongest part of any boat is the keel ! Just be sure the bunks support the majority of the load. Folks that cause damage to their hulls/keels don't have enough rollers. My 1983 Aluminum boat sat...

Will boat for this style trailer?

Extend those bunks rearward to support that transom, then add a keel roller on that cross member so the bow doesn't hit. Do yourself a big favor and add some side bunks to keep boat centered. You could just raise the front mount of the bunks to get the bow a little higher. My boat sits at an...

2004 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer sudden leak

Easy enough to pull the out drive and check inside the bellows for water.

2004 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer sudden leak

If it were soft wood in the transom, it could come on quickly as the surrounding materials also fail. I have saw a few rotted transmission never leak a drop but gave way while under power...material failures can have minds of their own. Glass boats are designed to have a 25 year life...

Will boat for this style trailer?

The rear of the trailer should be at the rear of the boat to support it properly. There are trailers that have a set or roller bunks that extend beyond the rear of the trailer frame to support the stern of the boat ( I have one), but the one in your pics is not built for that. Without your...

2004 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer sudden leak

As much as I hate to say this.....is there wood in the transom that has deteriorated to cause a leak around the out drive ? Very common in glass boats over 20 years old. When the wood fails, it compresses and allows the gaskets to leak. Hope you find better news....

Better hole shot for a jon boat.

Is possibly gaining mabey 1 mph....worth the hundreds of dollars spent for a SS prop ? Lots of other tweaks could get that extra mph at little to no cost ! If your really looking for performance upgrade....put your money together and get a bigger motor. Your 4 Wynns had a lot more hp to work...

    Brake Winch from West Marine.

I have the same winch but without the brake. The store had one of the brake units on display, which I played with a little. I was under the impression the brake was applied with that lever, but I could be wrong. The winch is made by Fulton, so either a West employee or contact Fulton and they...

Better hole shot for a jon boat.

SS props are designed for performance engine and boats because the blades are thinner, they cut thru the water better and can be tricked out for performance easier. Flexing aluminum prop blades is like measuring how much a steel rod bends when a fly lands on it !

Boat had been stored for 19 years

In my area, if you plan on making money on a boat flip, you start with an aluminum hull ( mabey wood for serious collecters) glass work is to time and costly to make money.

Boat had been stored for 19 years

In my opinion, the stringers and transom that are rotted out will be you biggest challenge and cost ! Fiberglass work is nasty, expensive and a serious health issue. Watched to many battle health issues after working with fiberglass, not for me. The motor will be the easiest and probably the...

Better hole shot for a jon boat.

Big difference in weight ! Unfortunately many boat owners underestimate their boats weight. The 19 mph sounds pretty good with two adults and gear.

cowl air inlet on mercury 9.9.

OK....gotta ask, are you sure there are no wires being pinched ? No linkage being bound up when the cowl slips on ? This should not be so complicated ..

    Trouble launch and loading boat

If it were me.....I would consider replacing the bunks with longer ones, and add some extra supports for the new bunks. You need a low and wide roller at the very back if the trailer frame for your keel to hit first, a self centering one would be good. Add more keel rollers, and extend the...
