    In addition; Inspect/clean/ tighten the nuts on the starter-relay, also check for a voltage drop across the terminals while cranking; a large voltage-drop can be caused by pitted contacts in the relay

    Check your cables for cuts/corrosion& see if the ends are clean / connections tight. Weak starter ? clean the armature /check brushes

    Check all the wire-terminals, the wires tend to break under shrink-tube. Give them all slight tug to see if the wire is actually still connected to terminal. Also check for proper/correct hook-up

    Out of curiosity; What screw are you referring to? at bottom of the timing tower OR at the trigger-ring

    Just for giggles.......... a force engine (running at idle 750 RPM) from that spec./age we're dealing with. Will have the timing on #1 (approximately) @ 7 degrees BTDC

    No need for "snake oil" (unless it makes you happy for some reason & enjoy a smoke show.) DO however; - Get another gauge to check your compression readings - Clean/check the recirculating hoses & fitting (are check-valves)
