Epoxy type to use in water jacket

I don’t think the West System would hold up to the heat. It would get to soft.

Epoxy type to use in water jacket

Forgot to mention after you take the bolt out chase the threads with a tap so they are fresh and clean threads.

Epoxy type to use in water jacket

It may not last forever but use JB Weld and coat the threads with wax. If the bolt does get stuck gently heat it until it lets go. Best of luck

6 hp 4 stroke won’t run when connected to external tank!

Once the bulb is hard there is no need to keep squeezing it and forcing fuel. You said the motor runs without the hose hooked up correct? If so just for kicks start it without the hose hooked up. Just when it starts to stall From running out of gas hook the hose up and see what happens.

6 hp 4 stroke won’t run when connected to external tank!

This one boggles the mind for sure. What is this motor mounted on? Is it on a sail boat and your tank is higher than the motor at the moment causing a siphon maybe?

6 hp 4 stroke won’t run when connected to external tank!

You mentioned old gas. Has this motor been sitting for awhile? You may need a good through carb cleaning.

6 hp 4 stroke won’t run when connected to external tank!

When you say the carb floods do you mean fuel comes out of it? If so your float must be sticking.

1955 Johnson 25hp (Which ones had the bad crankcase seal?)

Check the key in the flywheel. It may be sheared. That will cause your back fire and ripping the cord out of your hand.

1992 Johnson 88 Special compression worries

Did you do the right side first then the left? Is your battery topped off and strong? Did you rotate the engine the same amount of times on both sides? Do you get where I’m going with this? Top off your battery and test again left side first and see if you get the same results. If you do then I...

    1986 Johnson 30 water pump

Well if that’s the case your half way there. I would chase the threads if they are still there. If not you will have to drill it out a bit and tap in new threads for a new stud.

    1986 Johnson 30 water pump

That was supposed to say nut and lock washer that goes on it. Also if it is broken off it’s likely going to be a bear to get out. Give it a good soak with penetrating oil. A you may need a bit of heat around it as well.

Look for an in-line fuse from the + battery terminal. Do you have a battery selector switch? If so check that to see if it’s still working or not.

    1986 Johnson 30 water pump

Looks like it’s broken off to me as well. after you drop the lower unit you will be able to grab whats left if that stud to get it out. Then match it up with a new one that is as long as that plus the nut that goes on it.

    Float bowl pin stuck???

I’m not familiar with your exact carb but I have come across my fair share of stuck pins. I usually grab and end with vice grips and spin it free. If that doesn’t work back one side of it with a well fitting socked and us a drift punch. If you should by chance scar the pin put the good end in a...
