Weight distribution for 14ft modified vhull

No expert but just thoughts A Jon boat is really light and looks like most the weight will be amidship and forward. The motor is very little weight compared to people (unless the 2 folks are under 100). Fuel and Bat even further forward will cause porpoise issues. Put fuel and Bat behind seat...

    BRAVO 3 RATIO

Agree with others, need to take the drive apart to find out what failed. Also need to find out why the motor would not idle. Engaging the drive at higher revs can break the gears. Once drive is apart, count the teeth of each gear and then we can determine what ratio it is/was

Chainsaw cutting lube in a pinch

Think of info from a guy who sharpens chains the same as info coming from a forum. Someone is correct and it may not be your first thought. I gree with excess heat will create wear, just not on sharpness, more bar wear Just my opinion

Maybe my turn for new boat time

There looks to be about 10* between each notch. Would kind of like to move it out maybe 3*, moving it a one notch you can see what happens. Might only need about a extra 1/8 to 1/16 on top to work

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Appreciate that Bruce, might do that but thinking of trying a simple solution. They make plastic putty knives sort of things. I have a couple hanging on above the bench. Should be able to cut a piece out of it and make a shim (nothing to maybe 1/16) should do it

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Well it warmed up so I drilled holes and mounted the antenna mount. The issues are unable to get the antenna to be straight up, it's leaning slightly inward. It is maybe 2 inches from the hardtop so it will hit when running. If I move it one notch then it leans outward which is worst. Might...
