    Transom repair on Lakeland fiberglass.

Those bits of box looking things with carpet on are the floatation. Foam with wood around it. You have to cut those out too and redo them

    Aplha 1, 3.0 - Exhaust & Manifold Help Please

Unfortunately that is rusted a significant amount. You could run a file across the surface but it looks like you would have to take off 1-2mm to get it to clean up, however I would suggest a new manifold

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

If you don't follow the SAE or ABYC wiring colors as an OEM or professional, you should be drawn and quartered. Every boat or car I have worked on in the past 25 years has followed the standards

    Converting a 1994 volvo penta 7.4 to a 1 wire alt from a 5 wired

Is the alternator marine rated? I wouldn't do a 1-wire in a boat. You discovered why. You have to run a dedicated ground (second wire) The choke is run off the ignition (purple wire). and having the sense hot-wired to the B terminal (as all 1-wire alternators do) kills the battery. Plus...

    Twin Solex pa44 1, volvo penta Aq151B

I wouldnt run it until you get the carb sorted. running cylinders lean will make them eat themselves from detonation.

    Twin Solex pa44 1, volvo penta Aq151B

something in the carb is plugged up in the main circuit. you are running out of fuel from the idle circuit. hence the reason it dies. check the main jet to the emulsion tube did you pass a bit of fishing line thru every passage to make sure they are clear before re-assembling the carbs?

2850 Bayliner B command Bridge question

Assume the transom and stringers are rotten, the motors have been overheated and left to die from a frozen block busting death, and the drive are toast and the boat is a complete project If the motors are healthy or the drives are OK, you are a bit ahead A free boat is always the most expensive.
