    I looked your motor up and both Alpha and Bravo show a belt driven raw water pump (Bravo type). Look forward to what Fun Times finds. I would bet a nickle there should not be a impeller in the drive

    I'm no expert on the old OB motors (hope to see some of those folks chime in) but do know that ethanol is bad for the old I/O's. 91 octane gas won't hurt the motor but you may have slightly less HP. The higher the octane the slower the gas burns

    Moving thread to the Merc section Inboard Should measure 43 psi fuel pressure at the rail. Three pumps in 2 years, do they loose pressure or something else? What lead to replacing the pump?

    Git Rot will not displace water, so with wood being wet it's useless IMO Once transom has gotten soft it needs to be replaced
